Yes, i have but sadly i have also watched a chick die. Chicks need to get out of their egg by themselves because it gives them strength. The chick died of not having enough strength to get out of the egg.

Yeah thats different for everyone. I grew up in poverty with a single dad. Where we grew up there was nights when we went to bed without eating, constant noise from neighbors, dogs, trains, police sirens, ambulance and firetruck sirens, robberys, gunshots, etc.. most of our nights we didnt sleep more than five hours bc of the noise Where my siblings and i live now is galaxies removed from that life we lived. Theres manicured lawns, quiet at night, not much noise during the day except when theres contractors working, not much police sirens, our fridges are full with groceries from the grocery store bc its fast, and we spend our weekends doing leisure activities. I couldnt ever imagine having to spend my free time to raise chickens, or tend to a garden and be outside when i dont have to.

It's not so much that they are scares of the concept of self sufficient, it is that, they are scares of wasting times, and trying something new because they don't have times when they need to make money, to go to works, under an economic and social reformation where, if there are time, not make money from time is unthinkable. It's the Capital economic system that alien peoples from their own labors and natures when money became the exchanges for their labors, instead of the fruit of their own produces.

Pasterizing does not significantly affect the nutritional value, even though it does remove bacteria (good and bad) and enzymes. Both pasterized and raw milk have their places, but pasterized is safe for all ages and health conditions aside from intolerance or allergy, while raw milk is the opposite.

Not only about being unreliable, but the poor quality too. You are preserving foods that aren’t full of chemicals and are healthy for your family. It’s a beautiful thing. 😌 We enjoy this lifestyle as well.

What’s wrong with pasteurizing the milk? The process for pasteurization seems pretty simple.

Hey everyone! I’m new to food storage and need some advice. I’m not looking for long-term storage (5+ years) unless necessary. My plan is to buy a lot of food upfront, secure it while I consume it, and then repeat the process. I shop at wholesale warehouses like Restaurant Depot where buying in bulk is cheaper and time-efficient. Here’s what I’m dealing with: Oats: About $10-$15 for 10 lbs, so $200-$300 a year for 200 lbs. Beans and Grains (mainly rice and quinoa): $128 - $512 per 200 lbs each per year. I’m looking at spending around $456 to $1632 a year for roughly 600 lbs of food. The average annual cost is about $934. I plan on shopping once or twice a year just to replenish these products as I have a deep frozen for my other, so I need a storage solution that can handle 3 sets of 100 lbs of food cycled through twice a year, and is repeatable multiple times for several years. From my research, I’ve found two main storage options: 5 Gallon Buckets with Mylar Bags and Oxygen Absorbers (x amount of buckets to repack 100 lbs) 5-7 Gallon Glass Jars with Oxygen Absorbers (x amount of jars to repack 100 lbs) I’ll be storing the bulk of my products in a nearby storage unit and keeping some in my pantry for regular use. My main concerns are protecting against oxygen, moisture, sunlight, etc. Do these two options work well for my needs? Are there other methods or tips I should consider? I’d love to hear from both creators and viewers on this topic. Thanks for your help!
