Im honestly shocked you dont have a guy backrolling just to semi level out the floor. Good job with the squeegee though, some reason people are either scared or incompetent with it lol
@thaphreak
@thaphreak 2 ай бұрын
you do understand that this is a self leveling viscous material therefore if poured and spread before the curing process begins to accelerate 'leveling" is not needed. kinda a perk of epoxy flooring.
@brandocommando4459
@brandocommando4459 2 ай бұрын
I do understand that they're self leveling, as most companies use them. Still with your notched squeegee, they could tend to leave some thin lines, or puddles if you're not careful. It's not a necessity, but it's a clear easy way to ensure you won't have any problems the next day. You don't need to guys flaking the floor, you should have a long time until that material sets up, providing they're not using polyaspartic.

@thaphreak I also don't know how they're going to tie in the floor with the base without rolling it. Otherwise the transition will look like shit. Usually you can roll over the flakes with a roller being heavy and it'll help. You can't use flood it completely, you'll have a hump in the floor at the border
@josephd4132
@josephd4132 2 ай бұрын
@@thaphreaklol that’s not how epoxy works. Even if you use a squeegee you still have to roll it out to get the puddles and notch lines out. The guys throwing flake probably have 9 inch and 18 inch rollers but they need to throw the flake before it cures. Even if something is self leveling you still have to distribute it properly.

I just got NP1 from Lowe’s and I cannot get it to flow out of the caulk gun without using incredible pressure. I heated the caulk tube up after placing the tube in a gallon ziplock bag and putting it in scalding hot water! It did flow better but was by no means easy. Is this normal or do I have defective tubes of NP1? Thank you.

You have a really shitty caulk gun. You need 12:1 thrust ratio.

Do you guys test the floor in several areas? Or is the concrete usually consistent throughout a location so long as it was all poured at the same time?
