I think the heat in Texas will continue to increase and eventually turn a majority of the state into a desert. I've seen trees dying from the extreme heat and drought. Heat and humidity are going up making it necessary to use A/C a lot more than in the past.

My parents moved to Texas in 1970s from canada. Within the first week my dad's car was stolen at the gas station while he was paying for the gas. At the first Christmas party for his workplace, my mom's coat was stolen. At that same event one man was stabbed and another shot over a minor misunderstanding. It was very different than Canada and they were shocked. I stayed in Canada.

So much of what you’re talking about about is related to the cities in each state. For example, the temperatures in Tampa, Fort Myers, Orlando and even Fort Lauderdale are not only warmer, but much better employment opportunities climate definitely better in Florida so much of Texas gets much colder in the winter. My money is on Florida.

So I have a friend that’s a realtor here and one thing he told me on why the houses are more expensive is since a lot of people moving here are paying over asking price for these houses and I’ve noticed it in my part of town in Houston. There’s a neighborhood here called Quail Valley. It an older upscale neighborhood dating back to the late 60s. Houses there ranged between 200k to about 350 max 7 years ago. I saw a house there that was for sale back then at 185k on the golf course. Just needed to be updated. House was sold and then put up for sale just recently. 400k. The house was still in the same condition. No updates at all. Yes it is Californians but it’s also people from Colorado, and the New England states where houses were and still is very expensive. The price you could get for a 1300 sqf house in Pennsylvania, or California could get you a very nice and large home here in Texas at one point. It caused a huge domino effect where houses that were once 200k are pulling 350k. My parents got the house before the price hike at 199k and now it’s valued at 310k. Only thing they did was replace the houses entire ac system. So honestly it sucks because the native Texans are getting priced out in areas they live, including the high taxes.

I'm a transplant. Stayed in San Antonio after leaving the air force where my wife was born and raised and my kids were born. Had I not met her I likely would've ended up in Houston or married to a Puerto Rican woman in L.A. Crazy how chance encounters can alter ones life paths

I moved to Kansas from California in 2005. Bought a home that i could never afford in California. Politicians turned Maga after trump, except for governor Kelly. Trump brainwashed many of my neighbors and made it impossible to have conversations. I pray trump loses. Another trump term would drive me out of the country. 💙🇺🇸

I am Puerto Rican and moved in 2001. I made Texas my home and I am financially in a good position, thanks to this state. When I moved with my wife, a friend told us, “in the Metroplex, you shop and eat, that’s it”. Boy, she was right. I have hated a few things about Texas for 23 years. First, no mountains and nice beaches like my island. Second, no public land, everything is private property and sucks, so hiking is on designated areas. Third, the food now is more diversed, because Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelan’s have brought their food here, but before, it was Mexican food, burgers and steaks. The nicest thing is the opportunities and cost of living. Another thing I hate is that take to damn long to leave the state in a car, Texas is too big boring when you drive around.
@VIPRealty4 күн бұрын
If you're leaving out of the state you need a plane, not a car. Texas is massive and not much to view on the way out.

The eastern 1/3 of Texas, the big cities, are all drastically overpopulated. Cities that were built in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s were not designed to accommodate massive human overpopulation. You can no longer commute or travel during the day in DFW, Austin, San Antonio, or Houston. The eastern 1/3 of Texas has terrible county\city\town planning, bad schools, zoning issues, saturated labor markets, corrupt local government, perpetual crime waves, and a low quality of life. The Mexican drug cartels are highly active in Texas with human trafficking, drug trafficking, identity theft, property crimes. Texas government doesn't seem to be able to prevent the human and drug trafficking problems (aka, a failed government). The biggest reason to never live in Texas is because of all the people that moved to Texas from other States or Nations. The import models are usually uneducated, rude, pretentious, arrogant, incompetent, racist, egocentric, misanthropic, have entitlement mentality, support communism, and are fleeing wherever they come from because they are losers. They are basically social, economic, cultural parasites and should pack up and GTFO ASAP. We should have a national\federal set of laws that only allow people with wealth to relocate from one state to another. Texas should be managed to allow a population of no more than 20 million people. You don't want to live in Texas because it will become a toilet like New York, New Jersey, Illinois, or California in the near future.
@madhatter900128 күн бұрын
I live in Houston and had neighbors from New Jersey living next to me. The worst neighbors you could ever have, and thank god they moved back to New Jersey. Texas is a working mans state, not a party state.
@VIPRealty28 күн бұрын
True! Also depends on where you live lol
@izzytoons24 күн бұрын
You can't judge a whole state by one neighbor. NJ are not all partiers. Many, many are incredibly hard-working, talented, highly affluent people. Likewise, not all Texans are hard workers. Last, not all working people are men. Do you get the drift?
