With respect, Jesus didn't "destoy" Satan, he merely asked him to vacate the presence of this poor fellow.

Satan lives in all of us. Jesus did not rid people of satan by saying things as simple as “leave him” he convinced people through understanding of the world that the perspective they have of anger, hatred, manipulation, addiction, greed, etc was all of the left hemisphere. He didn’t know at the time but that is what he was doing. He just convinced people through understanding the world and how it worked.
