Before the internet as it is today; while fishing in Thurmond Lake, Clark's hill around 1998, I hooked one of these from the bottom of the lake. After cleaning it up, replacing the duel mantles, replacing the glass, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was in perfect working condition. I contacted Coleman with the model number to ask about the manufacturer date. I was told that the model was from 1973. Six months later, while night fishing below the same dam, I accidentally knocked it off the ledge back into the same watery grave where I'd resurrected it six months earlier. I sure hope someone else saved it. By the way, I never knew this was the correct method for lighting it.😮

That vent is a great idea. Besides roasting it would be great for soldering, types of 3d-printing, or using some of those stinky wood finishes. Heck, you could put in an electric BBQ and grill there! :-)

Most interesting! I think your the first person I have ever seen repack their bearings and never take the wheel off first! One question; you said you went to the auto parts store and they matched you up with some grease seals. Why didn’t you pick up some new cotter pins while you were there? But you got new grease in there, that is the important thing. Take care. Tom
@jon-bonworkshop3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching Tom, I absolutely should have picked up some new cotter pins while I was getting the new seals, but I guess it just never occurred to me at the time.

Good job, could you send me the link trim coil that you used, please
@jon-bonworkshop4 ай бұрын
The trim coil was purchased at Menards, it's actually for bending flashing or gutters. Pontoonstuff.com sells some nicer trim coil, this stuff worked fine and was very low cost, but it's not very shiny.

Good to see you used a stainless perc instead of the common cheap aluminum. Most cheap china percs are not anodized well and leech metals into the coffee.

Question regarding your blast gate. Shouldn't there be a blast gate at the router lift as well? You will lose a lot of suction when connecting to the external blast gate for your sander because it is still pully from your router lift.
