I wish Australian ‘mechanics’ would understand this. Here they reuse them until they break off in the head and then just use a dab of gasket goo to make them look like they are properly torqued. Yes really. No wonder my car leaks oil like it’s been serviced by a monkey. You just can’t trust a grease monkey to follow the engineering specs here. They think they know better. Still charge full price and charge you for the bits they never installed. Sooo bad!

How is this housing different from the ones sold on Amazon? Are all the coolant and oil channels completely open or are there casting issues that close up those?
@CRPautomotive12 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! We can’t comment on the products available on the internet from unknown sources, but we can tell you that prior to launching this product we conducted on vehicle testing with running vehicles for over a year. With ours, there should be no casting issues or problems with flashing in the coolant or oil channels and the filter is from an OEM supplier.

@ it’d be nice if some fancy euro parts source had a line of spring hose clamps. I don’t know how many flanges I’ve seen in the years of working in the import parts biz where the nipple for the hose is distorted by some ape masquerading as a tech who’s over tightened a geared hose clamp. I know some folks despise them but on plastic coolant flanges spring clamps are the only way.

I have a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Performance Dual Motor in FL, USA. I would have to use Pentosin EDF-2 for both drive units? What interval do you recommend? Tesla dealers says it's a sealed unit and doesn't need to be changed. But I learned that lesson with my BMW and Mercedes w/ their lifetime fluids.
@CRPautomotive16 ай бұрын
Tesla has yet to set an interval change for the EDF-2 also known as KAF-1 at Tesla. Your 2023 car is still under warranty and until Tesla creates an interval change, they should honor any repair work due to failure because the gear oil was not changed. We believe Tesla will eventually create a suggested interval change of 50,000 - 70,000 miles since it’s working as a cooling fluid for the e-motor and gives them an opportunity to look under the hood.

Misinformation indeed... On the Miata forums, lots of voices say "don't use GL-5 in the manual gearbox, but do use it in the diff." A quick look at the Official Mazda Mx-5 Miata 2007 Owners Manual says "Manual Transmission, use GL-4 or GL-5", then another look in the the Field Service manual of 1994 Miata and 1996 Miata also says "GL-4 or GL-5" will work in the manual transmission. Some of the Internet folks were suggesting that GL-5 would slowly destroy the transmission or cause failures with strongly worded warnings. Since GL-5 is specified for the diff, and is specified in the OEM Manual for the manual gearbox, I'm going with GL-5 in both (so I can buy by the gallon).

Please clear something up for me.... So you WANT :"high SAPS" for a gasoline engine? Or do they just tolerate it more than a diesel? I have a 2015 VW Golf with 1.8L turbo (gasoline) that is consuming about 3/4 quart of oil every 1000 miles, but otherwise running well. My mechanic thinks the problem is in the Turbo rather than piston rings or head gasket.. Have been using a Triax full synthetic ester base 5W-30 rated for 25K mile life. When I asked Triax tech support If there was anything I could do to reduce my oil burning they recommended their "high SAPS" 5W-40 that is only rated 10K miles. They didn't tell me why... I'm open to trying a Pentosin product. I use your coolant. But your products are hard to find locally.

Advice please! I'm new to radiator flushing so this is what I plan to do. Since you cant get out all the coolant, it seem the only way to get the correct dilution after a flush is to find the total coolant volume from the manufacturers spec, then measure how much comes out when you drain it. The difference will be the retained amount of coolant, which we can assume will be pure water after doing the flush. So you add undiluted concentrate of the same volume as the retained water to make this up to 50% dilution, then add diluted coolant for the remainder. Is that the correct way?? If more than 50% is retained, you cant get the correct dilution though :(

Some toyota manual transmissions, I know the S54 for sure in the celica/mr2 base trim switched from a recommendation for 75w90 to ATF fluid depending on the model year. It is sometimes used. When GL5 was new to the market there was a possibility of corrosion if the fluid reached a certain high temperature it would breakdown and cause a chemical reaction to brass parts, that is no longer seen with new GL5.
@666dynomax Жыл бұрын
@@vipercrazy-9 you are correct about the reaction. GL5 is still not always downward compatible in a gearbox however due to the higher amount of EP additive in some GL5's. Similar to what you said about gearboxes some snowmobile guys use ATF in chaincases... guess thats the same theory as my old nissan that spec'd atf in the transfer case.

@@Jorge651It’s debatable, but most folks usually just run GL-4 or like the first reply to you mentioned; you can run a GL-4+, which is both GL-4 and GL-5 compatible, and is yellow metal friendly.
