More clickbait, the Scout does not exist! From Google search - No, Toyota does not currently have plans for a truck called the "Scout"; the name "Scout" is currently being used by Volkswagen for their upcoming line of electric off-road vehicles, including a pickup truck, which will be marketed under the revived Scout brand; instead, Toyota is rumored to be reviving their classic "Stout" name for a potential new compact pickup truck, but it's just not so. You're right, key fob was surprisingly a hot mess at roll out Guru. It sounds like they have worked out several if not most of the issues via software updates. The battery issue reminds me of something similar with some Acura sedans years ago wherein the car was constantly trying to make contact with the key fob. This would drain the car battery (and kill it in winter) and drain the fob faster. There was no software update. Thankfully with Fisker and other EVs, it's as simple as one. Thanks for commenting!

You’re not wrong. The stock is a dice roll right now. While I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy a lot of it, I do think it’s lower risk after the reverse stock split goes through in March. The short interest in Fisker has moved from about 60% to 40% recently. While it’s still very high, this is indicative of short sellers leaving the stock. There’s no such thing as bad publicity and that’s likely impacting the lessening of the short position. By end of March most of the immediate need updates will have rolled out. By mid-summer, all available software from assisted driving features to solar charging will be in full swing. This vehicle still has a story to tell.

@@burghuin that’s awesome! Love hearing from folks who have also had a fairly flawless experience with their Fisker Ocean. I wish I could get a better sense as to why it’s been so inconsistent vehicle to vehicle when typically in the industry it’s batches of cars. My theory is that it has to do with how Fisker has done software updates. Maybe you have great home WiFi?! Thanks for commenting and keep them coming.
@burghuin10 ай бұрын
@@EclecticElectric.bsky.social A lot of the original issues were "batches" of cars. Most of the early deliveries were on software version 1.06 and did not include OTA updates so they had to actually schedule to go to a center or have a technician come to their house for updates. Also, many early cars had a 12V issues that was related to how one of the battery terminals was connected. If it wasn't at the proper angle, the sensor wasn't picking up an accurate voltage reading. Since you have to remove a body panel and two screws to open the hood, many folks didn't want to mess with it and had to again reach out to Fisker who was short staffed and focused on deliveries. Some early deliveries were delivered by open trailer and had some damage in transit. By the time my brother and I took deliver of our Ones, much of this had been sorted, including the 12V issue. We live on different U.S. coasts. He picked his up at a Fisker facility at the end of November and mine was delivered in a covered trailer, the beginning of December. Both were in perfect condition and on software version 1.10. We have both been upgraded to v 1.11 OTA. His was missing his hitch because it was out of stock and did not get installed until two months later. Mine was missing the tire repair bottle. The original batch of those bottles could open so they stopped including them until a new version was available and mine was delivered about a month later. My brother and I are both tech savvy and mechanically inclined. We also have closely followed Fisker sub-Reddits and other social media for years and knew what to expect. And, a lot of folks were posting workarounds and fixes. By the time we got our cars, we already knew what most of the issues were and how to resolve them. The majority of which can be fixed by doing the reset with hitting the two buttons toward the middle of the steering wheel and taking the 90 seconds to restart the infotainment system. We also knew that when you hit a button on the fob, the first click most likely won't do anything but wake up the car. Wait about 4 or 5 seconds and hit the button again and it works 95% of the time. We also both read the owner's manual before taking ownership. For customers who are not as well informed and think they can just take ownership of this car, like driving one off the lot, it isn't the car for them yet. For those that take the time to "know" the car and want a car that drives fantastically well and is extremely comfortable, it is the car for them (not withstanding the inherent risk of buying from a startup). My other car is an ICE vehicle so I have a backup in case I do have any of the major issues that have been reported. Funny thing is, it has a 12V battery issue recall and it's infotainment when blank while were we driving in the first few months we owned that car, and it is a Subaru. I'm sure, like any vehicle, there are some who are just going to get lemons. But, of the half dozen folks in my area that have one and with me and my brother, none have reported anything serious. Oh, and since the radar isn't active yet, you do quite often get erroneous warnings, especially when something impacts visibility for the front cameras. Hopefully that gets sorted when the radar is activated and doesn't have to rely on the cameras any more. But, I do absolutely love this car and really freakin' enjoy it.
