How lovely. Although I was from Reading at that time, my family holidayed in Southsea & Portsmouth & Commercial Rd area was always an attraction. Been down Charlotte St many a time during the late 40s into the 50s. Later with my own family during the 60s to the 90s. A hive of activity was Pompey & that market area. Great days, great memories.

I remember when it opened, me and my mates used to go up and down in the glass lift making a nuisance of ourselves on mushrooms we picked near Leigh Park. There was the food hall in the lower level, they had 4 different restaurants ahh the good old days

Good to see Dinkie Benham, at 4:33 there. I was looking out for him. Gave me my first ferret, he did. And 'The Flower Girl', 4:10. Bloody kicking myself, trying to remember her name now! My old dear was always mentioning what they'd been chatting about. A? E? Can't remember. But, she always referred to her as " ... The Flower Girl ".

"....and look what Portsmouth City Council's so called Progress has done?" Yes, you guessed correctly.....It's now a street devoid of everything it once was. Full of Pompey characters, a bustling market that stood there for years and a regular stream of customers with their families spending hard earned money. I hope I'm still alive to see the monstrosity that is the Councils offices in the Guildhall Square flattened by the demolition men of the future, hopefully with the staff still at their desks?"

This is how it looked when I was in my teens. I moved abroad in 1980 and so it always looks like this when I think of Portsmouth, thank God. Went back a few years ago... unrecognizable and the character of the city has completely changed, not for the better in my humble opinion.

The film is a 'Monstrosity' in itself! I live in Manchester, my late Dad was born in Portsmouth, but grew up in the WEST COUNTRY, but was a volunteer in the Royal Navy for 9 years, as he would have had to do National Service anyway! He came to Manchester in 1952! dx

Growing up in Portsmouth I had so many weird dreams set in this station! Especially the platform at 1:46. There’s something eerie about it when it’s empty.

I miss so many shops in this. M&S. 3:57 Great food court, used it all the time. Decent clothes, reasonable prices back then. Cosy cafe with lovely cheese scones. Thorntons! 4:35 You can buy their chocolates anywhere but having a fully kitted out shop was so convenient for birthdays. I never thought I’d miss 2016. Back when I had extra money and a variety of places to spend it. 😔

Congratulations your jealousy has made Milo even more popular, I don't even like Milo but I'll probably buy his book just to annoy all the SJW's like you. The funny part is if you have that kind of attitude towards other hard working people just because you don't like their opinions, you probably will end up sitting on some steps sipping from the bottle like a pussy at lunchtime. Also being that fat isn't healthy, put down the fork fat boy.
