I think the white squidcadas are adults and the black ones are juveniles :D

Nah it's fireworks. My neighborhood sets them off June-August. They will exist in the background until firework season is over.

3:58 you drowned there because you didn't give yourself enough time to catch your breath in the air pocket (most games you regain ALL of your breath meter when touching air but in rain world you actually need to take time to breathe). You can tell because the slugcat was panting a lot. Also you ran out of oxygen fast because you 'boosted' underwater. by pressing the jump button underwater you get a boost in swimming speed in exchange for oxygen, so its usually not worth it unless you're being chased or speedrunning (that also explains this 16:43). also at 13:24 your character throws with THEIR right hand first (so hand on left side of screen) you may swap the items in your hands by double pressing grab Keep at it though! :) its a difficult game and you have to fail a lot before you can begin to succeed. You can also add tutorial tips that appear between cycles in the remix options, it made the learning curve a little easier for me in my playthrough so it could help you to. (oh boy this is a long ass comment)

No offence, but I genuinely didn't see a single rain world playthrough where there wasn't a guy like you, telling every single mistake and possible improvements. Doesn't even matter how popular the video maker is, it just happens every time. Good thing there aren't any spoilers coming from you. Also I think tutorial tips are DLC exclusive and enabled by default, at least it was like that for me.

Oh my GOD i never realized that was making me drown faster ;v; I kept wondering why I would just suddenly swim faster sometimes and other times I wouldn't. I had thought maybe it was because I jumped into the water and it was just some weird gravity physics at play
