@SethEden2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure, I wasn't really tracking the names of the moons during the filming of this. The video cards I was using at the time of filming this were recovered from a garbage dumpster, both of them....LOL Filming these videos caused the cards to over heat and essentially get bricked. I was lucky to get these amazing shots and edit all of these videos before they melted forever.

@SethEden Oh now I get the issue, anyways you were really recursive with the work you did on this, fascinating!!! I guess it has to be one of the inner moons, captivated me instantly when I looked at it, it's almost completely oval in shape, with those ridges and geological deformations that seem to give the moon a face. I love it, keep it up!! ✨🪐❤️

In this case it was an air blast caused by outflow displaced by a cloud burst. The squall line itself was indeed a cold front in a volatile atmospheric conditions.
@michaelveis6498 Жыл бұрын
A squall line is a line of severe thunderstorms with high winds, hail, lots of cloud to ground lightning and very heavy rain. These storms also produce tornadoes.

@SethEden2 жыл бұрын
Because I was working on a donated Cirux 133mhz Pentium 1 clone computer in 1997 running Windows95 and only 64mb or ram and no GPU because it was before the days of the Voodoo 1 graphics accelerator cards.

@@SethEden I don't think it was before, it was just after the release of the first one. but yeah it was probably out of reach for or unheard of by lots of ppl
@SethEden2 жыл бұрын
@@iLikeTheUDK Correct. I remember very clearly right at that time because the voodoo 1 was out of reach for me as a student in college. Then in 1998 I got a trip to Comdex and won 1st prize at the Intergraph moto-racer competition which was a free voodoo2 video card and a coupon for a Cambridge Works sounds system. I availed myself of both and plugged it all into that Cirix computer the university loaned to me and suddenly I had the best LAN gaming computer on campus. :-D The trouble was back in those days the 3d rendering software didn't have the capability to use the gpu for rendering (aside from gaming and 3d modeling software) so all the rendering work still had to be done by the CPU.

I can only guess at the amount of computing power reqd to get all the physics right in your videos Seth. To Joe Soap, who does not keep the fact that he's being given the opportunity to 'see physics' in mind; this does not look like much. But the '1 in 20' do appreciate it..
@SethEden2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes it does take some pretty strong GPUs to pull it off. Space Engine is pretty good about it. The renderings done with Blender however are another story all together! I can only pull it off thanks to the SheepIt community rendering farm. Otherwise it would take me a decade to render it all!! :-D

Wait, some people here are skeptical about these being straight line winds? If you ask me, this certainly looks like it exceeds severe status, even if it doesnt cause MASS DESTRUCTION like some people think it needs to have to be considered straight-line. While straight-line winds are no laughing matter, a storm that exceeds severe status is really the only criteria needed for it to be considered straight-lined. Especially at around 2:23
@SethEden2 жыл бұрын
Yea agreed, and video always doesn't show the real scale. I've serviced those trees out in that ditch for the better part of 10 years and I built that fence myself. The fence posts are 6x6 not 4x4, and they go 4ft into the ground. So what kind of force does it take to snap 4 posts 6x6 solid wood?! It was a lot more force than it looks like!!

Can you make one for Earth with Trouvere's Earth?

I was actually planning a whole series for Earth....too much beauty to limit it to just one video. For instance I wanted to do a Grand Canyon suite. So I will absolutely consider that!! :-D Thank you for the suggestion. My video cards died while producing these Holst series and you know how hard it is to get good video cards. So it might take me some time to get my production studio setup again.

@SethEden3 жыл бұрын
@@sapphoenixthefirebird5063 Still going very slowly! First of all I need a new video card and those are in short supply. The video cards I used to make this series got burned up in the process. They were already garbage bin cards so I'm lucky to have gotten what I did out of them. I've been rendering on SheepIt trying to build up points for another render I'm doing for a friend. Been rendering for 1 whole year on that and I've only got 35 million points. I need at least 50 million points to submit the next render. Hopefully I can build a new system and get at least 1 video card upgrade by the time I hit 50 million points. Then things should accelerate a bit. ;-) Thanks for checking in!!

@SethEden4 жыл бұрын
Funny thing, this music was composed around the year 1915 well before there was an idea of galactic war or sci-fi space opera movies & video games. There were some short stories & novels out that were beginning to introduce the ideas, such as: "A True Story" written in the 2nd Century around the time of the Roman Empire, "Wunderwelten" written in 1911, HG Wells "War of the Worlds" written 1897, "The Battle of Dorking" written in 1871, "From the Earth to the Moon" published by Jules Vern in 1865. Over all the concept of space war was still very new. :-D
