My last trip to San Diego I immediately noticed the increased homeless population. Forty percent of the homeless are VETS. Many, many others are mentally ill. We must do better.

WW2 vets: 200-300 consecutive days of blistering combat. Came home. Didn't whine. Simply picked up their lives and moved on successfully and patrioticly

Imagine what the ones who's country they were sent to are facing, mentally and physically if they're still alive. It's unfortunate for both parties, meanwhile the ones giving the orders are safely at home financially and other living if up!! Very very sad world 😢

Marine Veteran ODS, no Purple Heart, but started having seizures, told it was Epilepsy, which doesn't run in my family. Chronic bronchitis, ptsd and they said missed diagnosed autism as a child. WTF!!! Now being told Gulf War Syndrome. Remember giving a DNA sample prior to deploying? When we returned we had to give another one, and I'm not shitting you, they said they lost the first batch.

Finally someone talking about this. Ex husband was combat engineer in Iraq 2 tours. TBI over 100% disability. Came back paranoid, mean and exhibiting symptoms of schizophrenia . It affects families as well as veterans.

Reality is if they could cut funding for veteran healthcare completely, they would. It's all about profit and the only way mental health would be supported even more is if they could siphon more money out of that.

America don't give a damned about its veterans and it so hard to get 100% disability but they have these money hungry guys out here charging you astronomical amounts of money they can get you 100% but you can't go about getting it yourself without the help from the gougers out here.

This is thanks to Congress and their unwillingness to help veterans. Republicans say they support veterans. Yeah they support sending you to fight for their oil. When you get home you're on your own.

People assume that all is well because they can’t see it. It’s mental health issues, their lives will never be the same. Most will ignore them especially our politicians. They have the very best healthcare while doing everything not to serve in our military !!! DEPLORABLE!!!

It took me 15 years to get my 100% after spending 25 yrs on active duty. I went to college graduated, was homeless with my two children, working on the streets of NYC as a vendor…. Trying to make a living. Now I am okay, have a MBA and doing well. The first 10 years after returning home was pure Hell.. I still suffer from Depression and anxiety. As veterans, we are last on the list. The illegal aliens live, eat and is treated better that us Veterans. It takes over 4 months to get an appointment for any appointment at the Houston VA hospital… it breaks my heart the way we are treated….shame on America!

I often wondered about the “many” vaccines that we were given before and during deployment… as youngsters we just lined up and took them. Are they the cause of our many medical issues that most of us are experiencing now? 🤔
