The guy at 9:20 with the white headlight mask. Do you know what light combo he's running? Does his bike have a battery or is he running that off of just the stator? Trying to figure out how to get a better light on my 2012 with no battery.
@splatoffroadАй бұрын
Ya that is my son's bike. His bike does have a battery but his light is ran off the stator. Which makes the light flicker at idle. I will be re-running the electrical like my 09 was ran. I went straight to the battery + and - with a fuse inline. No flicker at idle this way. The stock light was removed and a 4" led light installed with home made brackets. 4" LED Light 18w 1260lm and only $14 for 2 of them= www.amazon.com/Nilight-Led-Pods-Fog-Lights/dp/B00IY3YLCI/ref=sr_1_8?crid=LY41INRWRC66&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sOe_r1XaRFzu9aG7Wl42HoydBVj09Yfn_6QhiKVcbs61qmX3afueW1ZOCLVH9Fj-UBIs682TI3tk7a9c7XPyASi0glBBFFkzuFEmqpn1yVg7EPv3VEClT6WfolblWRkERCz9JpbvXNqFrMox6fzm0GGj_m2GiHMCIT9_21kw-_DcLXUfXGTAv2VlJhTTiQwAk_Em-3jmN2TKwJ08kiVPAoVxwNcRpA4NENl2px8ZuQghOSuFFkOUVSrw9PPmddmWP3lPMu6RTiha3LcO67FK2k-714NEq3gqMYOpJPm9EizQ5_zjA0L_BN9JhXL6ooqNSKBe6IcAoXkjUsJ1l4T_49BlusRQ1P_Fby8AZkJBcglUfJFUCWaRrN1gGAB4Qmki25JL-TCcFm5Pmdl5wHLiU-_N5jadihYNbBYcoVmrMk4fHHSQmXcqaGxg1yw0bpCO.-GWvScU_O8sFQngduolzMq4QZcticGGOa9azfyHJj9E&dib_tag=se&keywords=4+inch+led+light+offroad&qid=1735933573&sprefix=4+inch+led+light+offroad%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-8

@@splatoffroad Thank you so much for this! The stock light SUCKS lol. I know with the Baja Designs light they use a DC voltage regulator/rectifier to make it run off of the stator. I'm not super Savvy when it comes to electrical so not sure how to run that so I can run DC lights off of my stator directly.
@splatoffroadАй бұрын
@xxshiftlockxx ya, my motto is keep it as simple as possible. I don't know enough about electrical. Haha! Another good alternative to the baja design light is the Aceribis vsl light.

You want a big bore 4 stroke for that sand and to carry a lot more speed.
@splatoffroadАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and your opinion. I really do enjoy and love having open constructive conversations about different topics. In my own personal opinion. 2 strokes are just better for me and the terrain I typically ride. I have owned my fair share of 4 strokes. The numbers don't lie if you you take everything into consideration. 2022 KTM 250xc= 47.5hp at 223lbs 2022 KTM 450sxf= 55hp at 235lbs Yes the 4 stroke will hit quicker on the bottom end and my have a little bit more torque, but I am 145lbs so torque doesn't really matter in my case. Here is a short vid of what the bike is capable of on the same hill climb with a bald tire and me messing around on the way up. kzbin.infoqsctts1JIoI?si=xLAqc-7_uH889lvL Again I am not trying to ruffle any feathers. I am just making the point, 2strokes have come along way and 4 stroke aren't necessarily king of the hill anymore.

@@splatoffroad Question for you. I want to get back into dirt bikes, it's been nearly 20 years. I do ride a moderate power street bike(80hp, 420lbs) but my last dirt bike was a KX85 when I was 11 or 12. My riding would be mostly just open fields, maybe some trails. I'm thinking 2 stroke for simplicity and cheaper maintenance. YZ125 maybe? Or should I just start on a low power trail bike, like a CRF250F or TTR230. I'm 6'4" 180lbs
@splatoffroadАй бұрын
@@Jon-nz3dm I am always happy to answer any questions. Ultimately I can only point you to what might be some good options. I don't know your riding style or your abilities so this is all just my personal opinion based on what information I have to go on. For your height and weight a YZ125 might be a little under powered and flame out easy. The YZ250 or YZ250x would be better for your height and weight. The crf250f would be an amazing bike. It is very low maintenance and loads of fun with just enough power to get you where you need to go. I would pick the crf250f over the TTR230 every day. I think your best option would be the Beta Xtrainer. It is a great bike for the beginner to the advanced rider. It has a lower seat height but still has a lower tuned 300 2stroke motor. It can be woken up with a very small amount of upgrades (Header pipe and jetting). It is also one of the best bang for you buck option out there. It really depends on how often you are going to be riding it and how often you want to maintenance it. Had what type of fun factor you want. There are plenty review videos on both the Beta Xtrainer and the Honda CRF250f. I would suggest doing some homework on both of these bike. Hope this info helps. Good luck on the discission. It's never an easy one. Haha!🤘
@Jon-nz3dmАй бұрын
@ thank you for taking the time to give a detailed reply. I really appreciate it. The Beta bikes look amazing but I fear they’re out of my budget(not many of them on the used market). I often see YZ250’s listed for the same or even less than YZ125’s. Thanks again!
