There is something I did not understand. We multiply the deviation of the variable x from its mean * the deviation of the variable y from its mean, so what results Does a deviation result, and if the answer is yes, a deviation results, then what is a deviation from?

Dear. one question about three-way interaction terms. Let's label each variable A(main variable), B(1st moderator), C (2nd moderator). I'm interested in (hypothesize) the relationships A-B and A-B-C. Should all two-way (AB, AC, BC) and three-way interaction terms (A * B * C) be included in a regression model and result, or would it be fine to include some of the interest (AB, ABC) only?

Invoking the principle of marginality, I suggest that you include all two-factor interactions if you want to study a model that includes three-factor interaction.

Great presentation! Very clear step-by-step guide through something I have had great difficulty grasping. Fills in the "holes" that impeded my understanding.
