It's quite interesting to read a sci-fi themed classic story from the 1950s...While reading it I wondered how different our view of the near future is compared with the version of the future they had back then. We might have more technology but aren't we still trying to 'conquer' Mars? I mean we are closer but hopping from station to station as both civilians and officials at ease is still a little far off isn't it? Perhaps that's why our sci-fi fiction is as much fictional now as it was back then.. Would love to know your thoughts! Do share... Please remember to Like and Subscribe. arrator Riah xoxo

Wow! I am so encouraged. Your words do much to soothe my battered soul sometimes. I've been poorly and a kind word is like a soothing salve on a fragile confidence to do this. I love to read. I love to write. I love the classics but add to this a steep learning curve in audio management and video editing, well.... So it's nice to receive these kind words. They do so much for my resolve to keep improving and creating entertaining these audiobooks. Time is a cruncher I hope to find the time to do some lengthy recording. Thank you so much! :)

Thanks very much for the upload. I hope constructive criticism is valued. Though I appreciate your effort, the emphasis throughout the phrasing of sentences was uncomfortably off and at times quite jarring. Also, places I think were intended to be edited out, are still there, so we hear the lines repeat and rephrased.

Thank you for the feedback. It's not an excuse but I do two full time other jobs so there are times when I think I've caught all the errors and edited them it appears I haven't. I'm sorry for your experience of going through that. It's a labour of love for me but not necessarily my vocation if you know what I mean. Finding time to make it perfect is challenging... But I take it all on board and will endeavour to hope to continue to improve. All the best.

Thank you so much for reaching out and letting me know you're listening. I appreciate it more than you know. I haven't been well and been so poorly. But I'm on the mend and it's been such a joy to get back to taking care of this channel. Thank you so much for your support. Much blessings. Sorry for the late reply. I was just too ill.

Seems like Tolstoy's 23 tales are more like fables for the simple. (If the world practiced Christian virtues, it would be left--paradoxically--with evil people because the latter would quickly exploit the good. A totally bankrupt philosophy.) Nicely read, though.

I don't know how I missed this! Thank you so much for your kind comment and I enjoyed reading your perspective. I heard of Tolstoy before I'd read any of his work and was loathe to try because of his legendary War and Peace! That is a mammoth task for anyone to read. So finding these short stories seemed a good place to start. Thank you again.

Have you a 'Jeeves' in your life? Someone who understands you so well they know how to 'guide' you and protect you, even from yourself? Of course the Jeeves in P G Wodehouse's story is just the man wo hilariously does so for Bertie Wooster. It's English humour but it can translate if you follow closely. When you do listen to this please do let me know what you think below! Narrator Riah xoxo

These days there are fewer 'toy shops' around for children to visit and explore because in these times the 'toy shop' comes to us! Home delivery is great but a visit to the toy shop if one exists where you live is a wonderful adventure for children! Did you visit a toy s shop in your childhood? Have you or do you take your children to one? What did you love about it? I knew I couldn't take every toy in the shop home. I loved just to look at them all! Where else can you be surrounded by so many toys?! And even if we came home with some small affordable toy rather than the big expensive ones... it was all part of the treat and adventure!

the music is to loud I could not hear you over it
@audiobookstv Жыл бұрын
Hello Sharonlee. Thank you so much for your feedback. It corroborates the other feedback we've been getting about that and we appreciate you letting us know. Because we know that it's something we have to speed up fixing. Sound quality has been an issue and a steep learning curve, in part lack of knowledge and the other equipment. We'll keep trying to do better to improve your listening pleasure on our channel. What's important is that you communicated that to us and as a new channel we are so grateful. Thank you.

Thank you so much Lori Boufford! Just loving these old stories from the public domain vat. Old, forgotten maybe, but pure gold storytelling! So grateful for the feedback on the music. Will take that into serious consideration going forward. Sound recording etc. is still a bit of a learning curve. Really thankful for your comment. It is both encouraging and helpful. <3

Hope you really enjoy this. Let us know what you think below. Poirot is one of our favourite characters from one of our favourite authors Agatha Christie. It seemed only fitting we should bring this to you as a first proper book for the channel.
