I saw where a light coating of "Cal's Grease" was recommended for the carbon fiber replacement washers to help with water resistance. Seems counter intuitive for carbon fiber, any thoughts?

About to change my 600 washers. As for losing the pin upon disassembly....could one not insert the toothpick as done on reassembly? Perhaps the pin is pushed down far enough for the toothpick or a needle to hold it on disassembly?

So I just took my 600 apart and yes. using the toothpick during disassembly works to keep the clicker in place. Also. I just ordered the bearing seal. They are available for purchase at ereplacementparts.com

great video, my Tekota 600 reels need new drag washers, are they set up the same way??

The washer stack under the handle is a little different but other than that its almost the same, drag washers are smaller in size. A parts breakdown shows you the washer stack

Great video. Not wanting to have my clicker piece and spring go missing, I used a large zip lock back to catch it. I think its a good idea to change the bearings (there are two) when we take the reel apart. Its not very expensive and I think if the reel is older and well used it will help. If its new I think the encased ceramic bearings stay cleaner and seem smoother.

There is this little pin on the spool on my Shimano and I was wondering how you tie the line on that reel so it is attached to the pin

Any kind of knot is fine, I use a granny knot. Just pull the knot after its tied to make sure it doesn't pull out.

I'm not sure about increasing the drag, we change the drag washers because the Shimano type drags are sticky and not as smooth. I fish salmon and they work great when changed

Is the change-out due to old washers, or is this to improve the drag? I have heard this needs to be done even to new Tekotas.

To improve the drag, we do this on all our new 700 and 800 reels. The 600 reel is fine out of the box.

You either called out the longer/shorter screws wrong in disassembly or re-assembly, or you put them in wrong. 3:22 & 10:59

does it matter which side the washers are put in? i just got them and noticed they have small squares on one side an larger squares on the other. i assume the larger squares should face up. i hope im right.

I put them in large side up also but I don't think it matters.

TIP : The Clutch Bearing Can slide out of side plate and be set on top of Washer assembly in the groves then side Plate will slide right On already lined up - (The Reel Deal Guy)

Thank you ! click pin went flying out on me when i first opened mine up and i wasnt even sure what went flying until i looked at the schematics. thanks for the video
