Well i mean it is a 66,5 degree headangle trailbike and a 29er it will roll fast and easy over stuff and really fast if youve skill to manouver it properly. Try to shred in that speed with a xc sub 69 inch headangle hardtail. You will have trouble trust.

i keep hearing that AM hardtails are very popular in the UK , why is that ?
@anthonykelly66196 жыл бұрын
El Jefe we get muddy slop almost all year. So they suite our climate and are less maintenance. It's just part of British heritage. I've got a long travel steel hardtail on order ATM! We Brits love our hardcore hardtails.
@obi-wankenobi98716 жыл бұрын
British trails are usually also very wet, so they are quite soft. They usually are also quite smooth so and flat, because britain doesent have a lot of elevation, so a hardtail makes sense.
@anthonykelly66196 жыл бұрын
KZbin User flat in some parts yes. Smooth. No. I live in Wales. And like alot of Britain we love steep rooty tech descents. We have very few bikeparks with few smooth "proper" trails. We just ride hardtails places most think you need a full suss. Coz we stubborn!
6 жыл бұрын
No no, "NO one NEEDS" a Full suss, A full suspension bike is there if you can afford it. If you can't a hardtail will get you there as well just a lot rougher of a time lmao
@obi-wankenobi98716 жыл бұрын
At some point you will need a full suspension, because on a hardtail you will just completely destroy your rear tyre. You can get very far on just a hardtail, but there will be a point at which a rider will need to upgrade to a full sus to progress further without completely wrecking his bike. Also rear wheel tracktion is very limited, so thats also a factor. So no, you dont need a full sus but it definitely comes in handy.

I know this is an old vid now but its awesome! Sweet soundtrack with Rise Against. So I ride a Jamis HT 29er with XT spec in Arizona at the same pace you're riding at but my bike weighs a ball hair under 32lbs, w/a 3x crank. I could get it liter if I throw money at it or just upgrade to a new Carbon bike but I'm afraid if I go carbon & make 1 mistake out here in the rocks it will break. I'm I psyching myself out or should I not be so afraid to just go Carbon xc vs my AL trail. Yrs of riding motocross/desert I tend to push my MTB faster & harder than most people I ride with & I weigh 190lbs. Any pros out there that could help?
@Jordan-ot7qf6 жыл бұрын
Garrett Smith build your hardtail or go full sus man. Do both. Lol
@southsoundrider54286 жыл бұрын
Carbon is tougher than what it used to be. Just buy a carbon bike from a reputable brand and you are set. Trek makes great carbon bikes.

you're doing great job trashing that XC bike, but it's clearly visible even to a rookie like me, that this 29" is a cow on a trail. I wonder if all 29 HT's are like that? Or is it just XC ones?

is that a specialized Fuse ???
@AngusMcIntoshMedia8 жыл бұрын
Philippe Lemaire yeah it is a fuse. That is obviously the 650+ bike but Tom had a set of 29er wheels laced up onto the boost spacing to go in that frame as his riding was a little too aggressive for the available tyres and rims for 650+.
