Watching this again, as hard as it is. Thank you for your kind words Ryan. She meant so much to soooo many people. Unfortunately a lot of them passed before she did, and Covid and everything at the time. I both hate and love this video at the same time. She was such a blessing to countless people. Just a total selfless soul, and I try to be like that, I fail a lot, but still strive for it. I couldn’t imagine growing up without her and my Pop pop, whom you unfortunately never had the chance to meet. You would’ve loved him, an amazing man. This funeral parlor is actually where he was born, and where his funeral was in 1994. She had her funeral there as well after a bit of convincing. She wanted to be cremated, but she said I changed her mind because I thought it would be more proper for her to be buried with her husband. It’s such a weird feeling now that both parents are gone. I still keep wanting to pick up the phone and call Mom for whatever. Just to talk, some advice or whatever. After she passed it felt like I had literally nobody. I didn’t have that Mother figure anymore, I was furious at myself for not being there for her in her last moments, but I’m sure she understood. To my knowledge she was with a nurse in those last moments and the nurse played music for her. I guess it’s fitting as she used to be a nurse. I just really wish I could’ve been there with her and that will forever haunt me.
