That isn't how physics works when changing reference points

So if I am travelling really really fast, say 80 miles per hour, can I reach the Andromeda in 3 days?
@laugH_ClipzАй бұрын
Like 3 trillion days but yeah

You're not counting the local galaxies like the very close Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy? It's known to be about 65kLY away from us. I realize it's significantly smaller and different than ours or M31, but it's still 10kLY in diameter, which is immense. But I suppose M31 is the closest galaxy in the same class as ours, and that's what most people would be interested in.

Hopefully Andromeda is made of chocolate so when the Milky Way crashes into God can have some chocolate milk.

You cannot see Proxima Centauri with your eyes. You need a telescope to see it and a star chart to identify it.

Just so you know it would take you 40 thousand years to travel there at the speed of light, yes it's far
@An_Arbitrary_MiscellanyАй бұрын
What? He literally says it's 4.2 light years away. So at the speed of light it would take 4.2 years. That's what that means. It would take 70,000 years though if you travelled using our current best technology; our fastest rockets and gravitational "sling-shotting".

Lol she needs to understand light year .😂😂😂 get back to tictoc

@@An_Arbitrary_Miscellany Tyson was talking about how long it would take, going at the speed of light he said it would take 40 thousand years it's on one of his Larry King interviews.

@@fallios nope.

Yes its relatively close when you travel at speed of light. But with our fastest rockets it would take around 40 000 years to get there...And its just the second nearest star to Earth...distances in the universe are imaginable...:)

A light year is a year with half the calories. This guy says, "We usually refer to a light year as distance, but actually it's the distance light travels in a year. Like we usually refer to a mile or a kilometer as a distance, but actually they refer to the distance between things.

I learned from the Russians from Mexico that perhaps all evil will turn to America for what happened between Ukraine and Russia, thanks to the Amers. Mexico seeks to reclaim these territories and punish America as soon as they fall like Biden on the plane ramp...

That's why people say "keep it under your hat" when they don't want you to repeat it.
