Hello, I have lived here for 18 years and am currently attending college in the area. If you’re looking to move here, you’ve got three main housing options: newer and expensive to the north, middle-class and manufacturing plants to the west, and lower-cost housing to the east. The city is okay, with limited activities for those under 21, but hey, it’s improving. The people are generally nice, probably because Evansville has a history of being the meth capital of the world. The food is decent, but the water quality is poor thanks to the Ohio River being the most polluted river in the nation. Your water bill will be high because they have to filter everything out from the river. For schooling, Evansville Day School and Signature School are excellent but expensive, while Castle High School is just okay. Crime isn’t a major issue if you live at least 7 miles from downtown, except for Hardwood, which should be avoided. Overall, it’s a city. I live in North Central Indiana and jobs are so hard to find! Too many 'new citizens' are among us in our state taking both jobs and housing. I hope incoming Gov. Baird will actually do something for our citizens and tackle these problems.

Alot of people whos been here forever try to talk down on evansville. But if youre from the east coast or west coast. You find people are alot different and more friendly. I been here my whole life ajd i love it. I dont agree with people who say theres nothing to do. We have everything but a dave and busters and a top golf lpeowhoever opens one of those here will be a billionaire. Just sayin lmao have a good day!

@@KeySigRealty Its definitely cheaper here than Vegas Car insurance is half of what i was paying at 1300 a year , its 600 here for a year that really helps ... home prices are so much lower , home insurance is about the same , property tax a lot lower these all help when your on retirement pay maybe more will move here that are looking to relocate , and make life a little easier ~ sometimes its not always about the weather its about survival now ~ thats why your video tours really help and when people ask me how did you find this city all the way from Vegas and i tell them i was looking on You Tube one day and i saw a realtor doing a drive around tour on this city and i saw they had everything you need stores businesses things to do lower cost of living and i contacted her when i was selling my home and she helped me with information on moving here , buying a home learning about the city , this is the best way to relocate unless you know someone already living in the city your moving to .... Thats what makes technology so amazing these days ~being able to research all this on here , years ago you would have to drive to each state and check out cities and that cost a lot of money and time , this is so helpful ~ Thanks for all you do ~
