Cool demo and great stories. I really appreciate demos where they play the same thing b/t the different guitars, great job.

I like the Gretch best with the Guild being a very close second. I suppose I mite be biased because I am a Gretch fan.

I have about $800 dollars for a guitar. I want a hollow body with a Bigsby for some jazz. I’ve been looking at the Epiphone swingers. I like that you can split the coils and it comes with the Bigsby. I’ve also seen grinches around the same price of $800 but I don’t believe you can split the coils. What’s the better Guitar?

I wonder how my 1967 YAMAHA SA30 would fit into this list

Overall I like the Casino--midrange AND complexity. The guild is nicest in the neck and the Gretsch kills on overdrive.

I'd love to have a semi-hollow. I usually play grunge and alternative, and rn I'm torn between an epiphone es 335 and a gulid sunfire I DC. Any suggestions?

What a great guitar tour! Magnificent. All 4 have their own thing so clearly you need 'em all - just to be sure, right? If I had to pick one it would be Casino (I grew up listening to Fabs then by late teens REALLY started listening again) but any one of these would be great - the Guild is quite special, bright as hell but in a good way! Thanks!

Epiphone was the best overall to my ears. Then the Gibson, then the Gretsch. the Guild was a little thin to my ear in every position. I will say that the Gretsch was the best overdriven.

They all sound great but I’m liking the Guild a lot.

Really helpful comparison - actually playing the same riff so the only difference is the guitar. I have the Gretsch so favouritism on my part. The Guild is the most different and lacked something to my ear. Liked the chat before the comparison which had been thought out and gave a context. And at under 10 minutes an ideal taster video. Great content! Fave bridge = Burstbucker; Middle = Filtertrons; Neck = P-90; OD = Filtertrons. *Disclosure: would like to hear the P-90 with bottom end closer to the strings.

Amazingly the clean tones Epiphone was the "clear" winner to my ears and with some overdrive the Gretsch.

Loved your playing, great vibe indeed. Each guitar had its own voice but man, the Gretsch was like cotton candy. The ES was very balanced overall and is the more versatile guitar in the bunch, imho… my favorite for sure.

I find the Gretsch and Stratocaster do me. Ive owned over 150 gears since 1983. Owned them and played them.

I'm so glad I saved my Epiphone Casino from that nasty pawn shop. Plus it goes great with my Strat and Epi Caballero acoustic.

Gibson Guild Gretch Epiphone. those are my rankings.

Overall I liked the Guild the best, with the Gibson a close second. Overdriven that Gretsch did really shine too.

Nobody does Hollow Bodies like Gretsch does. But Gibson did have great hollow bodies when they were making them.

I think across the board, the 335 took 1st. In the middle position, the casino knocked it out of the park. The guild is unique, but with all of that mid and highs and lack of bass, its a chicken picker guitar, not a ryhthm one, it's too piercing. The gretsch did best in the neck position, but man that middle sound was weak compared to the rest.

I think you can play that thing anywhere. Nothing cooler than turning up with an incongruous guitar then being so good that by the end of the set everyone has forgotten your guitar is pointy.

I dream of owning a Gretsch Country Gentleman, Gibson ES355 and an Epiphone Casino. I'm not a fan of the shape of that Guild but the sound is good.

I can't decide... I'm pretty sure I just need one of each.
