This hailstorm obliterated my sisters unit. She had to stay with a neighbour for a week while we cleaned every surface of her place. There were shards of glass from one window that were 15-20m long and which had travelled from one side of the unit to the other, basically horizontally and then slid down behind the couch! A total distance of about 8m. The window they came from was the same height as the couch, so it had to fly with some serious speed to get behind the couch like it did. There was also glass embedded in walls and every single window was smashed! The blinds were write offs and it was an absolute mess! It was 6 months before she got new windows and plywood was so hard to get my dad had to bring some from interstate! And he only got it because his mate who owned a hardware shop managed to source it for us. Everywhere else in the area was sold out as alot of people were doing the same thing! At the time my sister was not home (thank god!) There was no corned of her unit that would have been safe.

You managed to catch everything I love about a rain storm. City lights on a wet rainy road , rain coming down in sheets , a little hail for the intensity and rain bubbles dancing on cars , pavement and anything it touches. Things like umbrellas and people hurrying across roads , trees being blown around all these kinds of things make my heart dance. Thank you for that.

I also love storms. there is danger but also a fascination seeing Mother Nature at work. I will say being car owner and seeing the damage that hail can do, I hope to never b caught in a hailstorm.
