I do enjoy my F3 and was excited when it was announced. This new batch of iterations does not speak to me. It's just a face lift of the original idea, or an overcooked recipe.

Happy to hear you're enjoying your Factor! 🙏 I hope you won't mind me offering some friendly clarification on our new models! :D ..The Veyron is actually a big departure from the Factor both internally and externally... The Factor is a fully magnetic knife with a magnetic lock and detent, whereas the Veyron is a non-magnetic knife with a new spring-based lock and detent. ..The M-Fire, another new model, is also very different internally. It features another new locking mechanism, different from both the Factor and Veyron locks, and also features a new magnetic blade deployment system. My third new model, the Factor 8IGHT, is the one that's mechanically similar to the regular Factor. But even the 8IGHT has been redesigned from the ground up with a new quad detent system, much easier disassembly, a redesigned higher leverage titanium flip lever with torsion spring retraction, etc. All three new models have been in development since last year - and have been a lot of work! 😅 ..Thank you for allowing me to share! 🤗

@@winterbladeco Thank You for Your reply and interesting information. The external design language is pretty similar on all these knives and I like it. Having a F3 and being happy with its quality, size and function I somewhat fail to get very excited about some in the new batch despite slightly different deployment methods, size and marginal changes in ergonomics. The blade bounce on the 8IGHT was not a nice sight when Jim played with it on his Channel. My F3 never does that. I am always interested in Your work and look forward to whatever You may come up with next. All the Best.

@@takuan650 Thank you for the feedback and glad to hear the Factor has filled that "magnetic itch"! 😃You make a great point in respect to the differences of each model... For those interested, what I should probably do is put together a demo video over on our Winterbladeco KZbin channel to showcase the different deployment methods of each knife - fully manual and lever operated on the Factor VS. assisted-automatic and switch-actuated on the M-Fire, for example... Deployment methods were a major focus of the new models and imho substantially different in each case, so it should make for a fun video! ..Cheers Takuan! 🤗

This knife is genuinely fantastic! The “smiley” bothers me in no way whatsoever and it seems to me to be a pointless aesthetic nitpick. The design is very attractive, the action is just about perfection, and in use it cuts and slices extremely well. One of the best knives of the year in my opinion. The other important thing to mention here besides Bestech OEM and Magnacut steel is that the knife is offered in a pure left handed variant!
@JimSkeltonKnives
@JimSkeltonKnives 5 күн бұрын
@@gladius1275 oh, it’s definitely not pointless. It’s a serious oversight. As a knifemaker, if you submit application knives to the Knifemaker’s Guild and they have a smiley at the plunge, you’ll be hit for that because it’s a basic fundamental that needs to be mastered. It’s something that would prevent a buyer from purchasing a knife with this on it as well. But, not being a custom, not being hand ground, it’s mystifying how on earth this shows up on a machine made production knife.

I was always anti-pouch. And I was a back pocket old school leather bi-fold guy my entire life. Didn’t want shit to do with man purse EDC doodads. Then I got a ViperAde VE-1 pouch similar to this, and an x-pac front pocket card wallet. Knife, flashlight, hank, mini pen, log & jotter (because I still write shit down) all goes in my back pocket. Drivers license, debit card, cash in my front pocket. No more searching pockets and scratching up my gear. Easy pocket dump at the end of the day. Game changer for me! Good stuff as always brother 👊🏻

Got a FDE Drop Point Gen 3 LUDT a few weeks ago from Eknives, I love it! Had a gen 2 as well i got from them over a year ago i loved that one a lot too. The LUDT in general has become my most carried and has yet to disappoint. I also don't personally mind the billboard but it definitely doesn't pop as much on my FDE as it does on my all black one.

I like the size with the forward finger choil, without it, it’d be a nogo for me. The weight is due to hardware and liners being steel (and obviously the thick blade stock). These run 5mm 3/64 bearings - Skiff 15ball bearings make a nice difference. Button was stiff and I’d get like a double clutch type disengagement with a little lock stick. Had the same “issue” with my Psyop…but not the Hedgehog or RSKaos. I hate waiting for knives to break in, so I tuned the lock bar and installed Skiffs. They seem to run best without oil on the detent hole/tang area as it seems very easy for the oil to get on the lock face and cause lock stick. Btw, your AI intro music is terrible, but hilarious. I love your sense of humor paired with your smooth, controlled speech. Your detail orientation makes for amazing pics and videos. Definitely one of my favorite reviewers. 💜🍆💦
