Did you need to use a bushing for the front hinge pin?
@pourindiesel12 сағат бұрын
Yes, I don't like using those bushings. It's never a perfect fit as it is oblong.

Are they actually rare? I have a couple of them and didn’t know they were anything special, a tan one and a black one

I built one of these. Surplus 604 upper which retained its original barrel and slick side phosphate bolt carrier with chromed key with factory 6 and 9 staking. Colt bolt. Also kit came with original era furniture, grey receiver extension tube and edgewater buffer. All I had to get was a partial fence m16 only marked lower and its my favorite rifle to shoot.

I’ve had this set since I was nine years old. My father bought it for me in 1985. I still have it to this day and every year put it around the Christmas tree. My son who is 14 years old now put it around the Christmas tree. In fact, he and I every year buy more track for it so we can keep expanding. We even added a few more cars. It’s a great thing to keep in the family

I bought an FN M16 A4 Military Classic lower and one of the FN A4 surplus uppers. The upper came with the Knights rail and broomstick, Matech rear sight, F marked BCG and FN cage code marked barrel. I call it my FN M16 A4 Military Classic +.

I bought the same model, the same box today, the gun is unfired. How can I find out the year of manufacture?

Amazing replica. Keeping these clones alive is also keeping the memories of the men who carried them alive. MACV-SOG, LRRPs etc. May they never be forgotten.

Didn't the Air Force get the Colt 601s first before the Army got theirs with the green furniture?

This thing is strange. First there are no instructions or manuals of any kind inside the box. Then its got this weird power adapter that looks like it connects to a fog machine. Then it's got battery hatch. Also the hose doesn't fit any of my fog machines both bought from Spirit.

It’s not for powder/case capacity. The case is already large enough. The 357 case is longer so it can’t be accidentally put into a 38 special firearm. Same with 44 special/magnum.

Even today those R4 Clones on my Country are good carbines yet the main problem was Those weapon attachments such as Optical sights and laser modules seems like Fictional for them well except those M203's, man I despise those carrying handle if only they acknowledge civilian's suggestions instead of cramming out themselves on the bushes.

About a year ago I found a Colt 6920 SOCOM marked M4A1 on the lower receiver, KAC handguard and milspec furniture only this one had a 16" heavy barrel without the vertical cuts under the handguard but with the step in front of the front sight block and the colt markings stamped behind the flash hider. I figured this gun must have been altered by someone since the SOCOM has a 14.5" barrel so at first I didn't seriously think about getting it. That gun sat in the pawn shop for about four months so I did some research and it took some digging but I finally found out what the deal was. Turns out back in 2013 Colt first came out with the 6920 SOCOM and made it with the civilian legal 16" barrel without the vertical cuts figuring nobody was going to hang a grenade launcher on it. They only made a few hundred of them that year then stopped because nobody would buy them because they weren't clone correct. It was also the last year Colt made all their parts in house. I think they didn't start making the SOCOM until 2018, clone correct this time. Once I learned this I bought the gun for $800, they gave a discount. The gun is near mint condition and looks like a safe queen. Its laser accurate and shoots like a dream. Went on gunbroker and this model goes for between 1500-2500 depending on condition. I cannot say enough good things about it and am glad I didn't get hung up on the "clone correct" nonsense.
