Omg this is exactly what I needed!!! I don’t know how long would it take to have the control over these tendons but I’m gonna try it right away and do it regularly Thanks so much for helping ❤❤❤

Interesting I just heard a teacher saying about relaxing the tendon too. But I’m having trouble figuring out how to. This video helps and I have to practice and find out.

omg thank you so much. i have banana feet, flexible ankles, disappraring heels and wide metatarsals so it is a pain trying to get fitted and sewing correctly. going to be trying this w my new shoes!!
@christelbremer657 Жыл бұрын
wow wow wow, I just tried this and where I thought I "hit the wall" with my plies, I could easily go much deeper without being uncomfortable! Thank you for this.
@christelbremer657 Жыл бұрын
For some teason I do feel like it is much harder to keep the ankle relaxed in a deeper plie from second position.
@beyondthebarre Жыл бұрын
@@christelbremer657 interesting. I actually find it easier. It may be related to the way your weight is distributed and what your toes are doing on the floor.

THANK YOU. My shoes have been perfect except for this problem! I’m definitely gonna give this a try!!
@krbodey20042 жыл бұрын
This is great cause literally every shoe I get has a disappearing heel but isn't disappearing heels purely a visual thing? And so this solution for it just fixes one visually unappealing thing with something else that looks rather unappealing?
@beyondthebarre2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I thought so at first as well. But I've used this methos with at least ten dancers on stage, and you can't tell past the first few rows on stage. You can so sew the elastic on the inside of you really care that much. I have also pulled the satin off an old pair and sewn/glued it over the sewing job on the new pair, and that works pretty well!

thank you so much!!! i've always been pretty flexible, so i've always been confused why my plié is so shallow. it's a little embarrassing since i've been training en pointe for a few months, yet my plié is way less deep than the other girls. this really helped, i can already see development!

Hi Hailey, thanks for your video and approaching this oftened debated topic. I have, at times, questioned the use of grand plies myself... mostly in fourth position. I always return to the same conclusion, the knees are absolutely designed to be used in and to their full range of motion. As long as the movement is taught and performed safely. This applies to ballet or anything else. I think of grand plies as insurance. The proper range of motion, strength, alignment, and flexible will develop security for the dancer. If a dancer lands a jump a bit off, properly taught grand plies become the insurance needed to save them. Foundational training, with the right thought process like in your video, is a key element in technique. Apply your same correction all the way down and back up to demi plie, and you will keep all your students safe and healthy! Best wishes and thanks for posting!
