Further to Noel's comment on TFD about the trade test transmissions. Yes please, I remember them well. Best one: Algerian Pipeline.

Very happy Strange But True will be showing, theres only been bad quality videos on here available recently. Theres still a huge interest in paranormal stuff however the new format is either ridiculously bad fake ghost hunter shows or those that are made up entirely of stock footage. Another bonus is that the series is mostly UK based stories.

The Silent Partner! Such an underrated gem. An interesting fact. The mall used as a filming location also shows up in Short Circuit 2.

Doomwatch! I loved that series. Up until recently I would have put money on the character of Dr John Ridge being played by Derren Nesbitt until I found out a couple of months ago that the actor was Simon Oates. That's only 52 years of misapprehension. What can I say?
@frankshailes32055 күн бұрын
Derren Nesbitt was the lead character DCI Jordan in "Special Branch" around the same time and wore pretty much the same outrageous fashions!

Wow, The Silent Partner back on UK tv after, what, 30 years? At least that long, I would think. My favourite film when I saw it in the 80s and probably still my favourite, though I've not seen it for many years. I picked up an American dvd of it a long time ago, but the picture quality of the clip you showed was pretty good so I will definitely be watching it on Talking Pictures TV! An early appearance by John Candy as well. Great film!

I saw this once years ago. There is a great appearance by Tony Hancock as the bandmaster, as far as I can recall. Well worth a watch with this cast.👍

Such a wonderful television station, and I cannot thank Sarah enough for the times we have enjoyed lengthy telephone conversations: always finding the time to lose me in endless Southern Television chat, despite her busy workload. Thankyou, Sarah, you will never know how much it means to me. Kindest regards, Paul xx

I don't have a TV licence. Talking Pictures I used to watch when I had one. Laurel and Hardy was my favourites. Christmas TV was Wizard of Oz. Laurel and Hardy. James Bond. Alistair sim Scrooge. Steptoe and Son. They used to show The Beatles Hard Days Night at Christmas. And A Ghost Story for Christmas. I have all these on Blu rays and dvds. Keep away from the Woke pc Crap.

Beyond me why they remake certain films, who was asking for a new version of the Railway Children? Can't improve Oliver, Ron Moody is Fagin as Alistair Sim is Scrooge, don't know why they bother.

Totally agree. I often see listing for a film in the TV magazines, only to be disappointed when reading on I discover that it’s a modern remake of an old classic.

This old pals act is actually a put-up job. Have you noticed that the Heritage Chart Show, which features Mike Read, has been placed in the schedule at gone midnight on Sunday's. There doesn't seem to be a rerun at an earlier time during the week. I suspect Noel has some deep-seated grudge against young Michael, and that's why he placed it in the 'graveyard' timeslot. Did Mike upset Noel sometime in the dim and distant past? Perhaps Mike said he'd introduce Noel to 1 of "Pan's People" or "Legs and Co." When he hosted Top of the Pops, and then renaged on the deal. On the other hand, it might be a rights issue quirk. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year to all at Talking Pictures TV and everyone who watches this great channel. P.S. don't take what I just said too seriously. It was meant in jest, and I didn't mean to open old wounds.❤

It is odd they are putting it on KZbin before the TV transmission, on the day you like (or I do) to assume they are there live sharing their Xmas,but hey ho just a fantasy. I agree with you though that all is not what it seems and you may be right, having met them on a couple of occasions, Mike is your old school celeb happy to engage with strangers and very enthusiastic about what they have to say, he has also had a few ups and downs in his life where he has taken gambles and lost everything in the pursuit of bringing us popular music.
