The editing quality and everything else Silvernight said made this worth the sub. Great quality video.

Calling the projectile style irrelevant is kinda silly when the bosses are relevant.

How do you get your character to do that silly walk that we can see in the video?? lol
@TheMasiliskСағат бұрын
That was done with the Weapon/Gear/Animation replacer plugin on Runelite! I replaced "run" with "skipping" and I replaced "walk" with "hands on hips" :)

15:33 adding to this - keep your gear in the same inventory spots every single time you set up to go do some pvm/raids. That way, they're always in the same exact spot when you need to switch and don't have to go looking for them in your inventory. Your gear may change depending on getting upgrades or dumping the bank to do a megarare rebuild, but their respective locations in your inventory for their combat style should always be the same. It becomes almost second nature to swap to what you need when you need it.

at 8:04, you say that combo eating will get you less downtime from eating food. This is not true, the attack delay will stack. You can eat a shark+karambwan in one tick, but your hits will be delayed by 5 ticks, 3 from the shark and 2 from the karambwan. If you do a lot of combo eating in a short succession (the food delay does not stack like the attack delay), you can easily go 10+ seconds without being able to attack because your attack delay stacked up so much, though this scenario doesn't happen often.

Yeah… even after playing this game for 20 years and getting close to having max melee twice, I still missclick everything while not even in combat. And I can’t do any tick-perfect BS, and all the 50000 different things you have to do during these modern bosses I also can’t deal with so I’ve kinda just given up on any PvM more difficult than Jad or Vorkath

1 crucial piece of advice I believe was looked over: the power of always attacking the speed of your weapon. If you are using a whip which attacks every 4 ticks, and you eat/move too much, and the next time you hit the npc is 5 or 6 ticks later... you've lowered your dps by such an insane amount. It may not matter during basic slayer, but if you ever turn your scythe from a 5t weapon into a 6t weapon, you're practically shooting yourself in the foot. Always try your hardest to be attacking without losing ticks. Quicker kills means you use less prayer. It also means you take less damage.

Extremely good point, I agree that I wish I brought this up. Perhaps I can do a part 2 in the future where I can go over this in detail?

@TheMasilisk5 сағат бұрын
More like a lot of players don't understand the value of prayers and levels. For example, I had a clan mate who would constantly complain about TOA being too hard, but he was base 80 stats and didn't use offensive prayers bc he wanted to save GP. They didn't think it was that big of a deal, but in reality it is a HUGE DPS loss compared to being max CB and using the best offensive prayers.

That is true, there is always going to be diminishing returns. However, given NMZ exists, it certainly doesn't hurt to max out your CB stats if you plan on raiding or doing higher level bossing.

To make things incredibly simple: the entire game is a time simulator. To be elite, you master the game’s clock, and then you can literally do anything you want.

Great guide, there’s only one thing I disagree with. I think the utility of sounds are heavily overstated and I’ll compare using the examples given. Jad is really easy to learn with visual cues (long lift = mage, short stomp = range). This is similar to nightmare’s animation, Denzel Crocker dance means range. Nex has unique text for pretty much everything. For anyone learning bossing, I recommend visual cues. It’s especially useful if you’re ever playing on mobile without headphones or there is a lot of noise where you’re at. Again, this will differ for everyone and I recommend you try to find your way that works for you!
@robjones-io11 сағат бұрын
And damn, I didn’t even realize you started KZbin 1 month ago Masilisk. This was a great quality video!
@TheMasilisk5 сағат бұрын
I can definitely understand where you're coming from, I personally like having sounds on because it can give me a cue when I happen to be looking elsewhere. For example, at the Nightmare boss, when you are dodging mushrooms, shadows, or clicking on a pillar, you aren't looking at the boss, but she can still use a range attack. It's just a good habit to play with sounds, turning them on alone helped my clan mate get his first Nightmare KC, but I also agree that you shouldn't depend on audio cues alone.
@TheMasilisk5 сағат бұрын
And thank you for this, cheers :)
@robjones-ioСағат бұрын
@ you’re 100% right there are places where sounds are useful. I completely understand the off screen piece. One weird example for me is muspah’s magic attack. I’ve killed muspah the most out of any boss, because I like the fight so I’ll autopilot a lot. The magic attack noise is so pronounced, it always kicks me out of autopilot so I can flick pray mage. I do think that’s something visuals don’t do.

Wait... does Olm use the new projectile system? You mean for the purple/green/red special attack or also for auto attacks?
@TheMasilisk5 сағат бұрын
I was specifically referencing the purple/green/red ball special attack yeah. Basically if a boss uses it at all, I added it to the list. Certainly doesn't help with the confusion where a boss can use both systems for different attacks unfortunately -.-

having music on helps with certain bosses like xarpus who always goes to phase 2 at the same time just as the music ramps up (slightly further ahead on hard mode)
@TheMasilisk8 сағат бұрын
Good tip, I didn't know this! Thanks!
@channingtaintum2 сағат бұрын
I disagree. You should have game area sound turned up instead so you can listen for the spit sound and stay in rhythm for scythewalk, and the screech. Music on just makes that harder to hear.
