The saga of USS Hoga's journey to Little Rock is a classic case of government bureaucracy at work, in the US and in other parts of the world. In this case, patience is not just a virtue, but a necessity.

Such a cool place to visit. It’s also very beautiful. The Plum Bayou Indians had the perfect place to live. The museum is very informative and interesting to see. It’s worth a trip to see it.

What does sandwiching mean?
@ARPreservation
@ARPreservation 6 ай бұрын
Great question! These tours take place at noon on the first Friday of a month. So it's a chance for people to take some time on their lunch break and "sandwich" a bit of history into their day. "Sandwiching in History" tours are a tradition in Arkansas dating back to 1997.

My Uncle Pete lived adjacent to one of the walking trails of this park. I spent so much time in this park growing up. I used to love watching the bridges flood out every time we had a hard rain.

My grandma lived on 28 Fairmont Drive. We used to walk to St Lukes on Sundays for Sunday school and church whenever I visited on weekends. This was in the 80s. I also attended the preschool there in the house at 8:45. This is bringing back so many memories.

I maintained the Communications Equipment at this site and all of them in fact from 83 to 87 when we shut them all down. Level 3 was where we worked. Me and my partner would do 373-9, 3-8, 374-1, 4-2 and 373-3 up by Heber Springs.

Have y’all ever considered doing a series on Arkansas county courthouses?🇺🇸
@ARPreservation
@ARPreservation Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. It's a great idea, but not something we anticipate doing in the near future. Some of our past tours have featured county courthouses, though, including Saline County (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3epXph6Yr-ph68), White County (kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHianaVtYs2IrNk), and Pulaski County (kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5WUY6mfacmHl9E).

These archaeologists gotta stop lying about the mounds. It was the black Indians who built those mounds not those 5 dollar Indians who claim to be Indians today😂. It was the black indigenous Indians people who inhabited that area period.

I'll say this if you are on 4th floor in apt 423 and you have someone that wants to get at u there is no way out but 911. I spent almost every day here worrying about neighbors an rich x and nasty lies ppl spread. Police do come and will help security slow. But look somewhere else if you want to not worry urself. I got tricked to this apt

The Wartburg at 7:31 is the castle in the town of Eisenach where Luther translated the Bible, and Der Wiener "Steffl" at 7:39 is St. Stephen's Cathedral, not in Germany but Vienna, Austria. "Steffl" is what it's known as in local dialect, so I'm wondering if one of the POWs had spent time in Vienna or maybe was Austrian. Love that you're still doing virtual tours so those of us who live elsewhere can watch.

Thanks for your comment. That was my thought too: that maybe some of the men were from Austria. I wondered if they were perhaps recreating postcards they had received from home. I didn't find any information on that, though. We're glad you're enjoying the virtual tours, and if you'd like to join us in person, we're planning one in Fayetteville in the coming months.
