Watching this immediately after the 2004 DVD and the sound editing is just weird... putting in cheering at times when you can see that the crowd is just... not really reacting in the background, music that just feels out of place and seems very clearly not what was played at the event. The 2004 DVD seemed to at least try and put the crowd reaction over where you could see people in the crowd actually reacting (whether it was their real cheers or not), and the music was more believable and the made sure to line up certain beatkills with the tracks! I guess all their budget went into the ring this year...

Overall really interesting event, some of the breakers in the top 16 were a little weak even for this time period, overall I think Sonic's rounds have actually held up the best overall just because he was rocking in a way that others weren't. Generally agreed with the judges; I wish the shooting of Houske vs Ronnie was better because we didn't see like any of Ronnie's rounds which makes it hard to understand why he won (other than Houske sort of being ahead of his time/too avant garde). Final was close, but showcased the weakness of having the battles be timed instead of a set number of rounds. Omar ended up 5 rounds while Ronnie only did 4 (though potentially Ronnie basically decided not to use the last 10 seconds?) Because Ronnie didn't respond to Omar's last round, I gave it to Omar 3-2.

The fashion overall is sending me but by far the funniest thing looking back is Ronnie's hairstyle lmao
