Modem stands for modulate/demodulate. It takes continuous analog signals and converts them into discreet digital signals.

Hey together. Is there anyone who knows if it is possible to change keyboard-layout from us-layout to german-layout (left downsite is 'Y' - not 'Z') in this modem ? I dont find anything for changing. And - by the way - I also dont find the possibility to change rtty-shift (from 170 to 425, or 850 Hz) and the possibility to change baud-rate (45.45, 50, ... 110Hz). Do anyone have some experience of it ? In the manuel I also dont find informations. But ... Thanks for this video !! vy73 de DL2EBZ - Bodo -

You'll want the 91% isopropyl alcohol from the health care/pharmacy department, or the automotive gas line antifreeze/water remover commonly known as Heet (yellow bottle) to run your stove. Don't use the red bottle as it has fuel injector cleaner that you won't want around your food or in your lungs. I've made my alcohol stoves from aluminum cat food cans by simply using a single hole punch and punching a ring of holes near the lip of the can. The cans I used are small, and the stainless cup I used will sit right on top without a support. I can make coffee, tea or cup-a-soup, but much more. Your cooking pot must sit on top of the can, not above it, and the flame jets through the ring of holes around the side and onto the bottom of the cooking pot. I have not tried it, but a larger can should produce more fire and support a larger pot. There is some danger using these. If you knock it over and spill the alcohol the flame will spread.

Consider using earphones. Your batteries will last much longer and you can listen and not disturb others...

Ive used canned heat to cook on before . I was actually going through homelessness at the time. It burns at a real low flame. It is slow burning and takes a while but it works. I found that using aluminum disposable pans covered with foil that I got from the dollar tree worked best. My favorite thing to cook was chicken and corn chowder with cream of chicken soup. The thickness of the pan makes a big difference.

New sub. from the 641... Always thumbs up!!! KW 2-8! From what I have gathered, if your in a average sized van a 2kw is best as they are saying any diesel runs longer life, if running full steam ahead, as a posed to having a 8kw and only running it 3kw. Due to more efficient burning. For my cabin I'm all in on a 8kw. I'm planning a van build out 20' and using a 2KW for full power longevity. I hope!!!

Someone probably pointed this out but to help, that muffler has a whole on one side, which should be at bottom to allow moisture out to make the muffler last and so water cannot back up to potentially plug up? Thumbs up!!!

I want to use the Fire Stick 5/8 as a mobile antenna. I'm building a PVC mast for it. I see that you are a General now. Have you put an antenna analyzer on this antenna? Most of the design information I find for 5/8 wave antennas say that a matching coil is required. Your installation doesn't seem to include a coil, so I'm wondering how good the SWR and match to 50ohms is. Thanks.

@invisalinkmissouri1360 Жыл бұрын
Nvr mind, I found it. If anyone is looking for this, its the MFJ-347 HF Stick Miniature Dipole Mount,$34.94 @ DX Eng... The Ham Sticks are about 30.00 Each as well and normally in stock. Mine should be here Friday. Now to find a decent non conductive pole or condit strong enough to hold it and two HamSticks up there at 15-25' and not be too flexible.

If you're in the middle of nowhere you shouldn't have that much junk coming in... I wonder if it's your charge controller? It might be that you're getting out but can't hear any responses! 73, Matt M0PTO
@JohnMooreVlogs Жыл бұрын
You're right. It's either a charge controller or power inverter. I've dealt with the same noise from a power inverter. There shouldn't be any QRM that far out. I have a lot of power line noise near my house, but if I just go a mile or two away from civilization, my receive is so quiet you don't here static anymore just a layer of really small voices too faint to recognize.
