If you stare at his work long enough, his name becomes a reality. Melancholia I (I swear it is '& I') was the masterwork that helped 'the scales fall' from my eyes, so to speak. Without a doubt, definitely my favorite Master. Appreciated the trip and reading of his symbols. There is so much to unpack in each masterwork.

It's true. I just saw a face in the polyhedron! Silent as the grave... A mineral's consciousness... The ladder makes me think of the Heryclides quote about the path uphill and downhill being the same. Everything is breathing.

"U" in "Ukiyo-e/ 浮世絵" is pronounced as "woo" not "you." (By the way, "yuki" as you read, in Japanese can mean "snow.") And it is "Hoku-SAI/北斎" pronounced as "sigh" not like "say."

I enjoyed the informative commentary. But as an artist I would have preferred to see somewhat longer views of the complete images Durer created. Then one could freeze-frame and study his compositions as he intended them to be viewed. And after that, follow your scanning of details in the images. Remember, close-up video scanning thru an image with only a small portion of the image visible is a new thing and was not anticipated or considered by the artists of previous centuries when they composed their works.
@ArtCompass10 ай бұрын
Your feedback is deeply valued, and it's encouraging to hear you found the commentary insightful. The suggestion to feature longer views complete images is indeed significant, particularly from an artist's perspective. You rightly highlight the importance of experiencing compositions as intended, with a comprehensive view before zooming into the details. Actually, this aligns with improvements I've been considering for the content. You may have noticed in recent videos that I start with a full view of each piece, allowing the audience to appreciate the artwork as a whole before delving into specifics. However, I am still fine-tuning the balance, as too much stillness might not engage a broader audience as effectively. Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for taking the time to share your perspective. If there are other areas you believe could use improvement, please let me know.

Actually the four horseman are in Revelation in the NEW testament.
@ArtCompass10 ай бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out! You are absolutely right. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are indeed mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament, not the Old Testament. Revelation 6:1-8 describes these symbolic figures and the calamities they bring upon the world. I appreciate your attention to detail and for taking the time to correct this oversight. It’s important to me to share accurate information, and I’m grateful for your contribution.
