I have spent many years struggling over particular sin and terrible despair and anxiety. I heard this very particular video version of this song and it was extremely impactful on my soul. The chorus reminds me of how now Jesus is forever etched on my mind. The constant awareness of Jesus, my Lord, is always a continuing constant that I can not break loose from, and I never want to. Definitely, my hiding place and Solid Rock.

So, for those who don't know the story of Lamentations: It may be the final writing of Jeremiah - a "navee" (prophet) who saw the moral decay of the people and was given many words by God to warn the people of this. Later he was given words to tell them how to manage the exile to other lands and -- probably against his will -- he was hauled off to Egypt where the Lord had told them they should not go. Lamentations is special message left behind. For the past, for now; and for the future. Jeremiah hid an answer to one of man's great questions square in the middle of Lamentations and then he drew pointers to that answer by starting each verse with letters that point us to the very center here in chapter 3. Of particular interest are the verses 3:33-34 as well as the text on either side which describe God's intent. These two verses are a good pairing for "the weeds in the field" story in Matthews 13:24. Hebrew Literacy has a pretty good video translating some of the original Biblical Hebrew taken from inside Lamentations 3. Hearing that transaltion reminded me of this song and made me seek it out again today. Similar to this song, the part being translated covers the focus on waiting which is found in this part of Lamentations, and how it relates to hope. Apparently, the Hebrew word used for waiting is rendered in a special form which is intended to elevate that concept. So beautiful …The Psalm 22 reveals the crucifixion of Jesus and his cry of feeling forsaken by the Father, but in verse 24 we read “ For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hid his face from him, but has listen to his cry for help”. And our Heavenly Father hears our cry and loves us deeply and sacrificially. Thank you for this song. I would love to have the CD.

This song and the word walls are the reason I wish Dovahzul was a properly functioning language. If the fan community would embark on such an undertaking To keep the ancient feel of it. instead of making up words for modern things or using loan words (in-game and irl) we should do the North Korean approach where we kind of just describe the thing or concept being talked about for instance instead of trying to make up a word for something like "Gun" or "Rifle" instead use the term "Fire Spear" or "Fire spitter" German does this for Germany itself Germany in German is Deutschland which directly translates to "German-Land" or panzersprenggranate directly translates to "Anti Tank Grenade or explosive" doing something like that woukd preserve the ancient feel of the lexicon while adding modern terms to it.
