So it seems, based on Diane’s explanation, that I could have both guitars in one: buy the OM, and when I want a 000, tune down a 1/2 step and throw on a capo. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Inherited my dad’s ‘57 O18, neck reset and 2 cleats later. It plays like butter, has a higher sound than my HD28v, but it’s lite as a feather and sustains forever. It’ll pass down to a family member when I’m gone!

Hello friends. The battery box lid of my Martin dcpa4 is loose and is no longer holding the battery straight. Could anyone give me a link where I could I buy one like it? thanks

How bout this…..I bought a GPC Aura Gt brand new 8 years ago. No intention of playing it plugged in. Well i found out one month ago that Martin installed the analog F1 in my guitar. For the first time in my life I was asked to play in our worship band. I was on stage and my guitar started feeding back. I boldly announced to the sound guy, Do not fear, I will kill that feedback without you having to notch a huge swath of the tone out of my guitar. I have here in front of me a fantastically expensive Martin that comes equipped with its own feedback destroyer. Imagine my embarrassment as I confidently held down buttons to no result. I chuckled, unplugged the guitar, plugged it back in while holding down the button, as per the downloaded manual for the F1+ instructed….nothing. Sweat was falling as I realized my pickup, that I never got to use until today is a dud. Please sir, just kill the tone so it wont feedback. Dejected I got home, did my due diligence on google, only to find out the pickup I had in my guitar was not the pickup Martin advertised. It was the dumbed down Analog version. All of these awesome features on my guitar can only be accessed via this damn youtube video. So when I tell people how cool my guitar is, instead of showing them my actual guitar, I refer them to this video where they can see what $2500 could have gotten me. Damn sure makes me wish I would have played plugged in somewhere when it was still under warranty. Now, instead of just being able to play with a beautiful sounding pickup, I have to spend another grand in pedals to do all the things this guitar was supposed to be able to do stock like eq the images and the dry signal, add compression, kill feedback, and blend the dry/image signal. All i can do is scoop or add mids, tune the guitar and change images. Talk about sour a love affair. It’s not even worth playing it on stage until I can get pedals to eq and target the specific frequencies myself.

So you drop the OM to Eb because that’s where the blues lives and you get the better scale and the nice bends 😎

It's a great way to explain because it seems impossible as they have the same amount of frets to body and total. but obviously the length of the neck itself changes the dynamics.

What an utterly retarded idea putting the battery inside a bag within the guitar ! Especially considering the cost of the guitar in the first place!! Whoever came up with that dumbass idea should be sacked!

I just bought the 000-12E Koa for fingerstyle, but the cool thing is: the nut is 1 3/4". Whereas other 000 guitars usually sport 1 11/16th". By the way, I absolutely LOVE the 12E!

The name ‘ukulele comes from the Hawai’ian for jumping flea, not jumping strike. ‘Uku comes from the Hawai’ian for louse or flea and lele from to fly, jump, or leap. This likely refers to the quick, jumping play style on the small instrument. I have a degree in linguistics and I used dictionaries and etymology sources to research this. Let’s all do better by minority languages.

I have a question about scale length. I have 2 Martin 000 that seem to be a discrepancy in regards to the difference between a 000 and an OM . One is a 00012-16C nylon 12 fret with a 26.44” scale length, the other is a 00028VS-12fret with a scale length of 25.4 “ scale length. But a regular 00028 has a scale length of 24.9” and an OM is 25.4 “ just as my 00028VS is 25.4” …. Do you understand what I am asking, why are both these guitars 000’s and not OM’s ..?

I have an OM28ce that I play professionally. Not a huge fan of the battery placement. ( like the 1st one in video). The plug hole is different to find when standing and once plugged in the cord hits the strap. I expected more R and D from Martin. $5000 guitar right? I own three martins. I prefer the input through the strap pin, less risk of dropping your guitar as well. Latest and greatest pick up system I find a little finicky. Plus an onboard tuner would be very useful. But, Martin fan here no matter what. Just my 2 bits. Cheers!

you Martin owners will understand this. a few years ago I bought a Martin PA with pickup. it is on a stand where I sit and play/ practice. sometime when I walk past the guitar, I will reach over and strum the strings at about the 3rd fret. no chords, not at the sound hole, just a passing strum. I do this and am always amazed at the tone. it is so beautiful and always impresses me at how special it sounds. I don't think I've ever told anybody this habit. my wife did ask why I do this. she agrees. Martin folks probably do the same thing.

I have a Epiphone J-200EC Studio Acoustic-Electric with Fishman presys. My battery keeps going dead after a very little time say a week. I have tried making sure that the unit is in the off position as best as I can tell but the battery stills drains. Does anybody else have this problem. Also does the volume have to be totally off to stop the drain?

On that paticular om she is holding . It looks like there is a long glue in saddle on and over the bridge as compared to the dtop in shorter saddle on the ooo. In my opinion that makes a big difference in sound. That long saddle enhances sound bosrd vibrations on the longrr scale om.
