First car I had was a 52 split wscreen but with 2 doors and spaced headlights ! My mate who sold it to me had me in awe that it had a 1/2" SU carbie !! (He graduated to a FC Holden stn wgn) .It had a 802cc side valve donk and in the words of J Clarkson wouldn't pull a greased stick out of a pigs bottom.Still have fond memories of it chock full of cronies with surfboards on top going to find waves .. was far better downhill with a tailwind. Recall the weird front shocks always loosening and the back seat rest being not fixed so we could smuggle in a couple of mates concealed in its boot into drive in theatres. Wish I still had it .. was also remarkably capable on dirt tracks and in paddocks for rabbit spotlighting hunts.
