Can someone tell me what pathways they took am applying to college for practical nursing
@hasina64813 жыл бұрын
Hi. I just recently graduated from nursing school in November 2020. My journey began after I graduated high school. I knew I wanted to become a nurse one day, so at the time, I searched for a 4 year university that had an accredited nursing program. I eventually found one that was affordable. It took 4.5 years to get my degree. Two of those years consisted of taking pre-requisite classes (anatomy 1 & 2 lectures, anatomy 1 & 2 labs, microbiology, nutrition, and statistics). I took actual nursing classes for the other 2.5 years. After all that, I got my Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree (BSN). Keep in mind, going to a 4 year university straight out of high school is not the only way you can get a nursing degree. You can go to a community college for 2 years and get your associates degree in nursing (ADN). However, a lot of hospitals prefer nurses to get their bachelor’s degree. So if you go the ADN route, you can then find a 4 year university and finish taking the required classes to get your bachelors.

How many years of college does it take to be a labor and delivery nurse?
@KateLove215 жыл бұрын
Pitocin NOPE that is the stuff I've heard you 100000000000% want to avoid at all costs! It makes childbirth about 10x more painful.

I absolutely loved the nurses that attended my second and third pregnancy at the intermountain hospital in Provo,UT!!! They are so sweet and kind and patient and I could tell they love their job, it's a passion for them! With my first son I had him in California and the nurses there were rude and I can tell they were only there for a paycheck.

@topanga266 жыл бұрын
Pitocin is oxytocin, which is a natural hormone already secreted in the body. When pitocin is given, it is in very small doses to encourage contractions. We already have oxytocin in our bodies, sometimes you just need a little more.
