Such a fun convo! Loved your energy. Don't worry, most of the interview you WERE smiling. The laugh is priceless! Wouldn't change a thing. Thank YOU, Latoya.

I never want to be called a farrier, been shoeing forty five years, raised in ark, blacksmith is what I am and also you forgot to mention it should be in the heart, not the wallet, to become a great blacksmith, enjoy your farrier tiltle
@AarontheFilmmaker7 ай бұрын
Nice to hear from another farrier, sir. It's just what it's called. I know lots of farriers, most call themselves horseshoers. Made for a good video. Also, I think through the story of how he got started, it's pretty clear Kody's heart was in it. Thanks for the comment, Mr. Farrier.

Appreciate you sharing this.😍 From other videos and Google images, I can tell the Grand Hotel has changed over the years since the 1970s. From change of furniture placements to wallpaper, even placements of plants and shrubbery. Like I noticed the famous kiss scene from Somewhere In Time wouldn't work today with that shot due to the tall trees covering the view of where Elise stood. This video helps me to see how the hotel looked roughly around when Somewhere In Time was filmed.💖

Man, I've got to tell ya, this was a great video to bump into. I work on motorcycles, but have been laid off for a while which leaves me searching for another direction and interested in becoming a Farrier, basically from working on steel horses to real ones. Looks like something I would like to pursue, and man, the verse he quoted brought a tear to my eye.

That's amazing. Glad you found the video. I hope you find a great career. As Kody says, it's not for everyone... but for some, it's the best job ever! Thanks for the comment!

Hey Alex, my brother's and I made up the name, that's why you don't see it. But it's an awesome spot on the northwest edge of the island south of The Pot Holes.

What a great idea for a video, Aaron. My wife, daughter, & I just made our first trip to Mackinac Island in mid July this year and we loved it. We drove all the way from the Finger Lakes region of New York State and did a 2 week tour around Michigan. We enjoyed riding bikes out to Arch Rock, taking a horse drawn carriage into the interior for dinner at The Woods, having a drink at the Cupola Bar and sitting in a rocking chair on the porch of The Grand Hotel with that AMAZING view. Of course, like true tourists, we also ate a little fudge (LOL). The place was everything we hoped it would be! BTW, regarding how to credit someone for your next video idea you could consider “From an idea suggested by…” Just a thought. Please keep up the great work. I also loved the home movie of Mackinac from 1977 (I turned 10 that year). The quality of the images was surprisingly good (you were quite a ham!) and the variety of subject matter was wonderful. Warm regards.

A very special place. Of course every visitor must spend time at the popular sites, but the real gems, like The Woods bar are further inside the island and the more desolate waterfronts. One of my most cherished was to enjoy a wonderful dinner & conversation with Rita Sue & Elliot Cohen, at their private home close to the Grand Hotel, back in 1996 or 7. They had the largest plot of privately owed property on the island (I think about 50 acres). They were kind and gracious hosts. We also enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks from the fort. Very special experience!

Thanks for allowing the rest of us an intimate peek into an otherwise private affair. Your comment about the way this process of human birthing is kinda crazy and natural at the same time is quite touching. Recently I've been viewing foals being born and wonder myself at the design of it all and the perfect idea put into motion that continues the species. Watcing those poor mares heaving and breathing hard while pushing for hours makes me sympathetic for the cause in the wait to see a new life emerge. Yes, it is one of God's great designs!

Do you have Geno play the strings tracks in the background? It resembles something in the vein of his works I've heard at church. Nice camera angles in your shoots. I am interested in watching more...
@AarontheFilmmaker2 жыл бұрын
I had Geno play the theme song for the Blacksmith Boot Camp series, but that was it. The rest of the music was royalty-free from a sound subscription I have. I need to write more original music soon, I've missed that. Thanks for watching! We've only just begun. I have lots of ideas for content in 2022.
