And it isn’t black, trust me. Black was only the base coat, if you know what it is. And also, Freddy’s appearance and outfit tend to change from movie to movie.

I based his skin texture on the original props. The texture in the movies we can’t see for a few reasons but it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
