Just found your channel and this comparison.....I'm aging (almost 60) and looking at a coupe to compliment my 2019 AWD Stinger GT2 and wife's Palisade Calligraphy AWD . I've looked at EVERYTHING from Corvettes , LC500, BMW M850I/M440I, CLE COUPE, AUDI S5/RS5 ......you name it and if it has 2drs and looks stylish whilst being reasonably affordable.... At the beginning, I was enamored with performance numbers .....but don't want to give up creature comforts. .... You stated something at the beginning of this video, that the RC compares more favorably with an E coupe ! Certainly not the fastest but reliability, looks and comfort are the strongsuit. These are highpoints in my recalculated mindset and believe it or not , I've loved the franken-design since the inception of this beauty. ......now to find exactly my specs!

I owned two GS's and ended up getting an IS350 AWD F-Sport. I absolutely hated the IS and went back to a third GS after only a few months. The IS felt so skimpy by comparison.

My friends own a dealership. I have had the pleasure of testing the rear seats of both cars to get a BJ. I found the lexus seats to be more comfortable. Just got to be careful not to get any cream in the mesh holes.

Hardly slow. 8.4 second, it’s the same speed as all of the luxury saloon’s, I think my merc c-class was 8.6 second. That Lexus is my car now and it is the best drive I’ve ever had it’s so smooth, and luxurious inside. When I need power to overtake it’s there. You’re not buying to pure speed. It’s a luxury car.

I'm coming in late (October, 2024) but after watching your review, I thought I'd share my experiences with the ES series. Your personal review is really interesting to me, having just spent a couple of months (summer 2024) shopping for and testing out many Lexus ES-es here in British Columbia, Canada---so, about 4 years after you've made this. Was, at first, looking at anything from a 2012 to 2022 model. I primarily wanted a smooth, soft, bump-absorbing ride that isolated the cabin from outside noise as much as possible. I naively assumed all examples from any year or generation would exhibit those traits. Boy, what a shock! Being rather unfamiliar with Lexus generally, *I had expected the latest gen. ES-es to be close to **_the ultimate_** in all the luxury qualities I was looking for.* Nope. I was gobsmacked that most were, I hate to say it, disappointing, particularly regarding: *a) road (tire?) noise* that just reverberated through the passenger compartment, even at city speeds (in B.C. with the generally superior roads and streets they have here), and *b) the really stiff, unforgiving ride* all the new generation cars exhibited, and *c) the paucity of equipment and supposed 'luxury' finishes.* But(!), *the previous generation ES---the one you found so wanting---were an entirely different and better experience. Quiet, smooth, soaked up bumps, virtually no road (tire) noise...etcetera.* I'm guessing a part of this is down to the older generation having smaller wheels and bigger tire sidewalls. *The latest generation's designers have likely also drunk the Kool-Aid that says all new cars must drive like sports cars, and have huge wheels and thin, rubber band-like tires.* This alone apparently kills almost every brand's 'luxury' models' ride and quietness. I guess manufacturers just can't beat basic physics? But I take it you liked this aspect though. Eventually, after looking at many, many examples of ES (hybrid and regular), I gave up (due to deciding the previous gen. actually was too old for my needs) and started looking at several other car brands, eventually buying one. I will add a question about your experience. I wonder if you found that new generation model you drove so 'tight and together' (can't remember your wording) *_because it was brand new?_* I also test drove a brand new 2024 model (not because I wanted to, but because that Lexus dealership was supremely poorly run and the actual three year old one I *_did_* want to test 'wasn't available'.) Just a thought.

I don’t think they had the traction all the way off either. I mean idk for sure but I have an ls 500 and if you just push the traction knob it doesn’t cut it off all the way. You have to hold it for like 4 seconds and then it cutts the traction off all the way and the lights will pop on the dash.

I bought a 428i 3 months ago and love everything about it. Long distance very comfortable and quiet. Pick up is amazing. I had a 118 diesel before which was lovely but the seats were spars, no padding and you could feel the metal base through them and awful so no good for any distance. This interior is a class above on the 4 series.

My 2005 430s beat the newer LS models. Bullet proof. My 460 is very nice but it’s more expensive to maintain and not as much headroom and seat bolsters are uncomfortable plus less side pocket storage and more control arms which cost and a tight engine to work on which costs more money. I like my 460 very well but I know my 430s will outlast it.

I've never driven the ES but I have a 2012 GS 450h. It's even more powerful than the GS 350 and the fuel economy is clearly better. However, when you put your foot down, the power power isn't instantaneous. It hesitates for a second or so, which I don't like. But nothing else about it irritates me in normal driving.
