Kit is the friend who did the speech in front of Money Ties by the way. Knox says there will be more of her on the album :) It's insane that the guy can be as ripped as he is and still be damn near critically ill. I believe Kit is also the producer on this one.

Many will say to watch Jenny & Screech next, but I recommend next going to something very different, more Rap and electronic, then later return to the acoustic story-telling. Ren has said he is especially proud of Seven Sins. And it is a powerhouse of a song. The section with the driving drums and electronic instrument fury is fantastic. And the lyrics, the 7 sins he goes through, are themes of many of his songs: Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Ego / Pride.

My interpretation / theory: The singing at the start- it’s a “cuckoo bird”. Like that of a cuckoo-clock. It establishes that he is mental, that he is cuckoo, or might be. . It puts the listener in I’ll-ease. It is melodic, but also slightly short of fully on-key. Later, after the Ressurection, the similar yodeling is full-throated and on-key fully. He has confidence, now. He has learned to co-exist with his doubts, fears, cynicism, pain.

It's funny you mention the lav mic, because if you just watch that mic, you can tell that some shots are from a different take. It is true the audio is all from one take, but some of the video is from different takes (IIRC, they did 4 takes total). On some takes, that lav mic was visible, and in others it has slipped inside his hospital gown. It's pretty remarkable his internal metronome is so precise they could edit the video from 4 different takes together with the live audio from one take.
