Which one is actually brighter (not in specs but in daylight) - the FR300 or Ion 200 RT?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 12 сағат бұрын
It depends. From further distances away, the focused lens design of the Ion 200 RT is brighter and more visible. At closer distance and side angles the FR300 appears brighter with the wrap-around COB LED.

How is the min and max insertion length calculated? You say that the min insertion is greater than the max. Do you mean that the protruding part of the seat post is between 152mm and 255mm.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 12 сағат бұрын
Sorry, I might have mixed things up in the description. The seat post has a printed min and max insertion marks directly on it so you can visually see them - they are based on Ergon's safety testing. I believe I meant to say the min / max are quite generous so even though this is a 353 mm seatpost (and not a 400 mm) you can still set it up with 255mm exposed seatpost at the min insertion point. What is shown here in the video is a bit above that min insertion point.

Is it in any way integrated with IGPS cycling computers? Like turning it on/off or battery status?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 12 сағат бұрын
Many computers do support a "light network" so you can change modes directly from the head unit. I didn't try that out specifically here but you should see a "low battery status" warning on most modern GPS computers when the connected device is low.

if the boost only offers between 0-30psi, my tyres are at 70psi, so how would that work?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 12 сағат бұрын
This is a dual-stage pump. You would use stage 1 from 0-30psi to quickly inflate it or seat a tubeless tire and then switch to stage 2 for 30psi+. The boost mode is really intended for setting up tubeless tires which require high volume inflation to get the tire to properly get seated on the rims. I usually leave my Tubi 2Stage in the second stage for day-to-day inflation.

Hey Hi, thanks for such a detailed review really appreciate you helping the community (I have seen many reviews that you have done on Magicshine lights). I have a query and I would really appreciate it if you could answer it. I plan to buy a Wahoo Bolt Cycle computer + Magicshine light (yet to decide between EVO vs Allty vs RN series) and was thinking to buy an additional $20 attachment for cycle computer. So I see that magicshine EVO + Allty models come with one in the box but would that be compatible with Wahoo? If not what would you suggest me as I don't want to go with Garmin cycle computer but at the same time I like the set up for the Light + Computer being stacked together to reduce the clutter - so how should I go about it?

Thanks!! $49 for 5000 mAh battery is damn impressive 😲and CYPLUS just 300 mAh. Based on this I would definitely go with the Fantik. How do their inflation speeds compare?

The larger X9 Ace is faster than the CYCPLUS, but it still feels slow compared to a floor pump or a larger car tire inflator.

Is it possible to detach the headlight?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 күн бұрын
Yes, the headlight / radar and entire SmartSense system can be removed (Cannondale sells all the parts separately). I don't think it would be as easy as removing a single plug though, the wiring for the headlight probably runs through the frame so you would have to trace it back to remove it.

How durable are the bolts? I bought S-works torch, it threaded after changing cleats.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 4 күн бұрын
I am still using the same shoes 2 years later and a few cleat swaps later, so I think they are holding up well. As a general precaution you want to make sure you hand thread any bike related bolts slowly to avoid cross threading or stripping anything - the torque limit on most things is low enough you could easily break things.

I actually own Garmin, Magicshine and Bryton all three of the radar tailights. The Garmin one's press button worn out after 2 years and cannot be fixed without costing a fortune. The Magicshine kept disconnected and reconnected many times everytime on a short trip of 40km and had a 15-20% miss in detection rate which was very dangerous. The Bryton had some error issue but the bug was corrected after firmware update and the missing rate was very low, if any. The brake and flashing mode for Bryton was brilliant and the price was as cheap as Magicshine. The Garmin was obviously outdated.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 5 күн бұрын
Both the Magicshine / Bryton had some software issues when they were first released, but as you mentioned they are pretty competitive now. The Bryton Guardia is a great option that's half the price of the CarBack but the Bryton specific mount can limit your options.

You said 240 lumen light?.... it's max 90 which is pretty poor by today's standards.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 5 күн бұрын
Yes, that was a mistake in the intro. It's just a 90 lumen light like the Flare RT. It isn't a 300-500 lumen taillights like you can find now, but it's more than bright enough and has great long distance visibility. I really wish Trek had added some side markers though, it's a big oversight by them.

I own 2 CarBack units, plus 2 Garmin units. Detection performance is close, except the CarBack sometimes misses cars that are coming from around a curve. The ANT+ connection to my Garmin computers is more reliable with the Varias. The unique things I like about the CarBack is the very secure mounting when used with the saddle mount that Trek sells for their saddles. I also like the USB-C charging and the battery indicator.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for the input. The Trek CarBack has a more narrow angle range (7 degrees vs 20 degrees) which I think is why Trek can claim a longer distance. The Blendr saddle mount is probably the way to go with the CarBack, the seatpost mount is very flimsy on a round seatpost.

If its a struggle to put the 40mm on, would it work better by changing the wheel set? Would the tire clearance be enough for example with Mavic Allroad S and Pirelli cinturato 40mm

I've had good experiences with topeak products so this should be a decent product. I've added a rubber strap with a conventional buckle to my Velcro strapped saddle bag, not fixed permanently to the bag but I could look at that at some point. I'd probably want enough space for two tpu tubes plus patches and glue then levers and chain tool

These racks do not work well with heavy bikes. The manufacturer no longer carries them likely because they had issues. I have e bikes. These racks are a total headache. They rotate while putting bikes on and taking them off, which is less than ideal when wresting a 50lb. Plus bike.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 7 күн бұрын
Pro Bike Tool claimed a 66.2 weight limit, but that would also require a more secure connection to the wall (a stud or brick) to support the weight. I'm actually still using this wall rack for my Specialized Tarmac and it's been a great way to fit more bikes into the room. As you mentioned, the bike can rotate when you are installing and removing the bike but that isn't as much of a problem with a light road bike.

I bought an M size helmet for my GF and L size for myself. According to the technical specifications on Limar's website, the Air Pro + Mips helmet in size M is stated to weigh 250 g and size L 270 g. However, I weighed both helmets using two different scales (one being a highly accurate jewelry scale) and found that the size M weighs 300 g and the size L weighs 318 g. This amounts to a significant difference of 20% and 18%, respectively. Also, the weight is much higher than you weighted. This is weird.

That's strange, we just received a standard US version of the helmet so I wouldn't expect that much weight difference.

Do you think the Magicshine evo 1700 is suitable for mountain biking?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 5 күн бұрын
It depends on what type of riding you are doing. If you are doing fast and curvy roads, you don't actually want a beam cutoff like the EVO 1700 has as you won't be able to see around corners. I'd recommend something like the Magicshine Ray 2600 instead.

I'm 6'1" and there is plenty of leg room in the kayak. It's also roomy side-to-side so you should be comfortable in the kayak. You may want to also consider the Kokopelli Platte, I have found it to be a lot quicker to setup (you don't have the fussy drop floor of the Moki-Lite to deal with) and lighter.
