I was a kid in the area and we used to play there. There was a youth center called the Hatch Cencer in the camp . We used to explore every building.

Went and visited it YEARS ago when I was driving north on Hwy 95 from Las Vegas to Tonopah. Saw a sign so I detoured off Hwy 95 to check it out.

Very poorly done! When you talk of Pat Garrett moving to Fort Sumner, do not... DO NOT show a picture of The Courthouse in Lincoln, New Mexico!!!

and there is a makeshift memorial of the supposed site where Garrett was killed. it's not difficult to find. I mean if you drive out to the area, why not take an extra 30 minutes and go to the place instead of saying it's that way.

Such a sad part of US history. To think these were modern times and yet this happened. I know one thing if l was there I wouldn't have come out to join the army just to die fighting the Nazis.

@ryangarrett725 There's enough reading material to have an opinion on a deceased historical figure. Like how ppl condemn Hitler and Ronald Reagen, too.

Both of the figures you mentioned were from relatively modern times and information is a lot more prevalent for both figures and i don't think yall care to give a fair assessment from pats point of view but personally i can give a rats ass what a bunch of doughy keyboard warriors have to say about a man they will never be a fraction of.@@Medina5Arts

@@ryangarrett725History tells us so. People in Fort Sumner hated him...he was a cattle thief, used ambush tactics...hell his own two partners thought he didn't kill Bill..Poe and McKinney...also remember they both said the man Garrett killed was a dark skinned Mexican with a beard..Billy couldn't grow a beard...if indeed it wasn't Billy then Pat murdered an innocent man..using ambush.

@@Medina5Arts both of the figures you mentioned were from relatively modern times with people still being alive from the 1940s with vastly more information on both of them and you don’t care to look at it from Pats eyes but personally I can give a rats ass what opinion a bunch of doughy keyboard warriors have on a man they will never be a fraction of.

I started buying lots there for $5000 in the late 80s. I told everybody someday this will be Palm Springs with water for boaters. Today, million dollar homes everywhere. I’ve owned a house there for 27 years. Things have sure changed. I still love it just not in the summertime.
