I was chatting up front desk night person last stay and she said she gets calls from other nearby hotels to check occupancy. Also the staff at the local Laquinta and Holiday inn get a bonus if they sell out. Best western did not.

Great video. Simple and well explained. The concepts seem to apply to the airline industry in my opinion. The concepts learned can also be used in other businesses. The key takeaway here for me is that it's extremelly important for a company to capture any data that it can from customer data to weather to politics and combine everything to form an well versed assessment on where the revenues come from and how the company can use modern tools like AI and machine learning to help predict the best business strategy for the company

Hey! Sorry, but unfortunately I made this years ago and I didn't save the spreadsheet :( - It's not too tricky though, I just used some if statements to come up with the "yes above hurdle" or "no, below hurdle". Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Hey Mohammed, thanks for watching! We work with most systems, so it may be tough to pick a *preferred* from each category, but really what's most important is that all the systems gel together. If you are at the point where you are selecting a tech stack for your hotel, I would ask the vendors the following questions: 1. Is the system cloud based - You don't want any clunky, on-property server computers if you can avoid them. 2. Does the system have reliable report scheduling functionality? This goes for CRS, PMS, RMS, and CRM. You want to be able to reliably extract data when you need it, and on a recurring basis (also, some systems, such as RMS rely on a scheduled report from a PMS or CRS, so you want to make sure that the data formats are compatible) 3. Does the system have reliable support? Can you reach someone 24/7 if there are technical issues? 4. What are the connectivity fees for each system? Is the fee structure transparent? Especially with a CRS, make sure that you understand the initial set-up fee and then per-transaction costs. Hope this helps!
