I purchased a 'barn find' 1966 250 Mk3, and purchased your two guides. They were VERY helpful in my restoration. View my channel to see it complete. Thank you.

Those are called S.O.B. screws. Because that's what you say when they bounce off into the abyss. ARs have S.O.B. springs too.

Where did you get your Chinese chainsaw and do you still like it?
@66M1DUCATI4 жыл бұрын
Yes, still have it. Works great. Only maintenance I have done is to sharpen the chain with my Harbor Freight chainsaw sharpening machine which makes the chain cut like new. I had originally purchased the yellow saw in video on ebay but they no longer sell that model. This past summer we were cutting a lot of trees and I wanted to reorder it and they didn't have it so I ordered one of these (www.ebay.com/itm/20Pro-52CC-Engine-Petrol-Chain-Saw-Cutting-Wood-Saw-Bar-Handle-Repair-Tool-New/303095781165?hash=item4691ea972d:g:d9UAAOSwxktciSzD) in 20 in. , sort of imitation Stihl and it works fantastic. This one like all the modern saws including Stihl and Husky uses a narrower, lower chain with more cutters which I think works better than a 3/8 in chain - does not bog as much as 3/8 in. Whether it will last as long as the bigger 3/8 ?

anyone know if you can move the foot gear changer to the other side?
@soaringvulture2 жыл бұрын
That's not trivial. I guess somebody could kludge up a linkage but I doubt if it would be crisp. Why not just shift it like they made it? I never had trouble switching from side to side.

I see the Wards tank. I like It better than the square tank I have. Is the muffler the original Silentium? I am running an aftermarket on mine and considering replacing the 22 Dellorto with a 24 or 26 as the intake valve is 29mm. I hate to lose the great mileage though. Maybe the most reliable bike ever

Love your video from 1964. Yours is better than mine, so I will add yours to my favorite list. I'm #40 Blue Ducati starting behind you. I'm wear testing white Uniroyal KED's Rocket boots for the 1964 N.Y. Worlds Fair. Great work!

Nice one mate, just what they were made for. Don't see many old Ducati's here in England on the road unfortunately. I've got a 1955 BSA which sounds superb! Good to keep the old school stuff running.

Hi, In attempting to promote sales of the desmos Ducati dramataically exaggerated the performance of the bikes. The fact is that the 66 Nk3 Diana with springer head -- the bike shown in the video -- was the fastest "out of the box" single Ducati ever made. Even the 450 desmo, which was geared lower was not as fast in acceleration or top speed. The 250 and 350 desmos were substantially slower. The Diana Mk3 was truly a revolutionary bike at the time. Tom
