why do you pay so much for brass? What is better than normal palettes and is it worth the price? Thank you for an opinion!

Very nice and I guess the purpose of the removable tray is to make it a bit lighter for outdoor work ?.. though constantly checking that the wire isn't working loose would annoy me. Id probably ask him to make it fixed instead like a regular palette.
How do I know for sure that shutter count is already zero and it is ready to take the 1st photo?

Real beauties! I bought a House of Hoffman's (small german silver) years ago, when they were a third of the price. I also own the Pocket palette by La petite Palette, and I'm considering ordering their old EC model. (like you showed, in another video) That Craig Young pocket box looks awesome, perfect size, thanks for sharing. You must have had to wait a while for those!
But wait why did u roll the film by only taking a photo once .......wasn't it suppose to do 2 shot in 1 frame

The camera in this video is not supposed to work properly, if you put the AUTO mode and with that light in the room, the red signal appears, as can be seen in the minute 1:43 is that the light meter is broken , selenium has degraded too much

I bought the palette and it came all off, and with bubbles on the inside paint, I made contact with Peter and he was super rude to me, he told me to glue it, and the palette was 465 dollars.

Luxury item for those who can afford it. It looks a great palette, and will age well becoming something like an heirloom palette eventually. It will also keep good value as it ages. It looks very practical too. I can want one of these without needing to buy one. Let someone else take the cost!

what a gorgeous palette... i've seen pictures of these boxes here and there but never knew where to find them. seriously considering buying one now though after trying to find them for so long! does the box still close with the second mixing tray removed?

5 years ago I received my Craig Young palette after waiting 18 months for it, the workmanship was horrible 😢, it did not look nice and the finish was rough and very amateurish. It cost me $550 Australian dollars and it was NOT worth the money for the poor quality of it. I sent photos to Craig Young showing him how unhappy I was with the palette and I asked for my money back. He agreed and I returned the palette to him and ordered a brass palette from Peter at La Petite Palette and it is perfect.😍

wow, sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience! there are quite a looot of watercolorists out there that tout his boxes as being the "gold standard" of brass boxes. i personally didn't like the Roberson style dish lids (even though i'm pretty sure Craig will customize them for you?) ... not to mention the nine month waiting time lol. so i passed him up. ordered a palette a few days ago from Peter as well and i absolutely cannot wait for it! he was having a sale AND i was able to customize it and make it truly unique - all for $410 which i found insanely reasonable. how is your palette holding up? i'd love to hear about your experience with it :)

Hello! Another brass palette maker to check out is John Hurtley, from Little Brass Box. I own a few of his palettes. They are fantastic! Everything, from the construction to finish, is perfect.

Peter is, by far, the fastest producer of brass palettes. You'll have the palette in your hands 2-3 months from the day you place your order. He doesn't sacrifice quality either. In fact, I'd argue his palettes are of the highest quality. AAAAND his customer service is bar none (did I say that right?) After pointing out that he made my palette with the wrong number of pans I requested, he immediately started working on making an insert with the right number of pans. Of which he will then ship to me - all of this on his dime. He frequently has sales, too. I mean....seriously...La Petite Palette knows what they're doing...and they're doing it so well. It's a no brainer when choosing which maker to buy a brass watercolor palette from.

Really great, good memories when I was teenager with my 35mm camera. Your photography style is really fine but I feel a little less focus distance can be better for these pictures. The blur and granulation and faded colours really amazing. Is itpossible to change the back to a digital back (somehow...)?! Could you share the music title and author? Thanks!
