I love this idea. Do you have any details of how you did it available? Also, I would like to build a bobcat some day. I like how you changed the transom to make it more attractive. Did you just change rear decking and coaming?

Have you had to make many adjustments with Skeeters on the dry lakes?

I've noticed that the three kings of ice boating lived (are living) very long lives. Could it be something in the fiberglass resin fumes?

I donated many of my grandfather's things to a group of Renegade racers. I believe Jerry Simon was the min person I dealt with. Fascinating hearing his voice again. Thank you for sharing this.

Decades ago I grew up on Lake Kegonsa...Back then it was mostly summer cottages...In the winter time, I have walked out to the middle of the lake many times...We used to have colder winters years ago and on occasion, the ice would get 2 feet thick!

MAN, what a pleasant surprise to have found this series of interviews! I had been writing some instructions for my sons, who are 3rd generation ice-boat-men, so I googled Elmer to be sure I was spelling his name correctly...I found there's lots of information about my hero :) It brought back lots of fond memories of sailing my Renegade - especially when I shattered my mast because it looked just like the one during the video. (Insert me sobbing here). I've always wanted to track down the chain of custody of my boat because, with sail #16, I wonder if Elme's hands had not touched the boat as it was under construction. Thanks so much for posting this!
