Connolly for Detroit is very interesting. He is a swing for the fences pick that they do not get a chance to do and shake things up. As for the hit Trevor had 7 games of experience with team USA and committed to the check with USHL style delivery. LHD Stian Solberg also be that swing for the fences pick....a BPA defender, even though they really do not need him.

A small D for the Leafs who was hurt hilarious ..... actually quite incompetent Dubas days are over ... thanks for pointing it out Chris take Cole the next pick all day long
@leebird76Күн бұрын
With Toronto's pick you can convince me if he's a Cale makar type dman. But picking small dmen just to become future trade asset at best, doesn't work and highly doubt it does for other teams as well. Though I do believe Toronto needs to start drafting and developing its D core. Meaning Treliving will bring a different philosophy in how it drafts it players from the one Dubas deployed.

"Difficult to predict Montreal's picks" .. that's because they are highly incompetent. I am again worried they will pick the wrong guy. They should go for talent alone and the players with the most talent are: Catton, Sennecke, Iginla and Connelly. Eiserman is a big player that plays a north-south game. This is useless in the NHL

One thing for sure when Montreal picks, whoever is favored to be picked at that spot, just fade that bet because it won't be him lol!!!

He's 176 now FWIW. This kid will likely round out to about 6' 185. He's obviously a smaller player. But, it doesn't have much bearing on his play. Although he's narrow built, he's sturdy the same way Bedard is. He's one of those rare players, who attack defenders and the middle, and rarely gets hit. Very smart and very elusive. Shifty skater and head always up. He's a handful. And I believe that won't change in the NHL. Once he adjusts to the new level. Which with his IQ is inevitable. He can become a star.

If Catton is still available for Habs at 5, and that’s an abysmal fat IF.. And the Habs get someone else, i will burn my Habs Jersey and will officially give up on them. Will never watch a Habs game ever again.. it’s that simple.

@ArcadeHawk3 күн бұрын
I love what both you guys do but with all due respect the Blackhawks didn't move up 2 spots to take Hage. To me this screams Demidov at 2 and Emery at 18, which I feel is a much better duo of picks than Levshunov + Hage
@mojolojo86053 күн бұрын
I’ve been following this team all season, been to almost every game even a few outta towners. My only gripe is anyone from echl, affiliates, news, even some fans rated this team as the underdog and wouldn’t make it to championship. Now that they won and broke countless records and took titles. All of a sudden they are in the lime light. I guess it’s better late than never, but for shame people. These guys worked their asses off all season long. They deserve it all! Go MAVS! See you tonight for the first game of the cup, and HEY KC! We want some Gator tail…….

Columbus needs a center. The Canadian bias is strong in these two. Taking the Russian blue liner at 4 would be malpractice for the Blue Jackets. Nobody forces The Habs to face the more realistic situation where Demidov and Lindstrom are off the board.
@Dcheen3 күн бұрын
I don’t think that is the more realistic option. I think the more realistic scenario is that Habs pass on Lindstrom if he’s available at 5 and do what people don’t want expect and trade back or take Sennecke/Iginla.

@AnaheimRob3 күн бұрын
Doubtful, but "if" Demidov is available they might take him and sure up their future top six with an explanation point! He is a bit small for what Verbeek likes but his elite offensive skillset would probably be too much to pass up.
@dlphcoracl96454 күн бұрын
Ivan Demidov should be the pick at No. 2. The most important issues for the Blackhawks to address NOW are: (1) Improving their power play and overall offense. They were last in the NHL in goals scored. (2) Finding a winger that can play up to Connor Bedard's level and begin formation of a legitimate NHL caliber top line. Note that there is no 'Russian factor' with Demidov. He is committed to the St. Petersburg team for only one more year (2024-2025), he has refused to sign an extension or new contract, and his agent confirms that he wants to come to North America in 2025.

I'll give you Celebrini at #1. Because Chicago made the trade last week with the Islanders to move up to #18, I suspect Chicago plans to take RHD Adam Jiricek. This allows the Black Hawks to take Demidov at #2 and by taking Jiricek at #18 they make up for the RHD they're passing on by not drafting Levshunov. The Ducks then select Levshunov at #3 to replace the defenseman they gave up when they traded Jamie Drydale to Philadelphia for Cutter Gauthier. At #4 I believe Columbus selects Cayden Lindstrom. If you watched the Jackets last year, they struggled with puck possession time. Lindstrom is a guy who wins faceoffs (58%), wins battles along the wall on a consistent basis and is hard to separate from the puck. By increasing puck possession time the Jackets can help their defense. Lindstrom is the guy to do that.
