I’m convinced people get things wrong on purpose to get comments for the algorithm. It’s smart. Look at us losers here in the comments.

Should set the handle at an angle so your closer to the center of gravity but further back on the wood to apply more leverage with less steps

Wrong the further you are away the more torqe but less speed the closer you are more speed less torqe because you have less leverage more leverage more torqe

The further out you are the easier it is to turn therefore you generate more torque further out. It’s faster when you’re closer because 1 you’re running less distance to make 1 rotation and 2 because of how angular momentum works. When the mass of a rotating object is closer to the centroid it rotates faster than if the mass is further away

Put bright paint on the end Edit: and paint on the opposite "flat" side as a marker so you know immediately no danger yet. Also add markers on handle side that warn you the stick is coming!

Your physics is incorrect. First off, the further out you go, the greater torque you are able to generate for the same applied force, not less. Torque is to rotational motion as force is to linear motion. So yes, the slower swing angular velocities tells you that you are generating less torque, but that's not because you are further out. The issue is when you apply a force, it accelerates the arm away from you. For you to apply a force again, you have to catch up to it and apply the force. The further out you are, the faster the linear velocity of this arm. So in order to apply a force you must actually have a linear velocity greater than it so you are constantly running into it and thus imparting a force on it accelerating it. It's this increased linear velocity that prevents you from accelerating the angular velocity of the swing. At the small radius, its linear velocity is much slower so you are able to keep up with it and apply a constant torque to rotate it. The purpose of an arm extension is to reduce the force you have to apply to rotate it it. It doesn't automatically mean you can rotate it faster. If you can maintain contact with the arm, then yes, you can accelerate it faster while applying less force. This is the principle of gears. The arm represents a big gear. We now can apply a tiny fast spinning gear to the outer edge and by increasing the rpm of the motor, this small gear can accelerate this swing with very little force. The issue for you is you can't significantly increase your rpm. Remember, mechanical advantage does not allow us to do more work. It allows us to use less force over a longer distance to do the same work. The key is reduction in force is traded for a longer distance in which to apply the force. This trade-off is the essence of mechanical advantage. You were thinking you could do the same work (displacement) and use less force in the process without giving up anything and that's just not true. Reducing the force means you now have a longer distance you must travel. For a circle, it's difectly related to the ratio of r1 and r2. If r2 is 2x bigger, you must now travel twice the distance. To get the same angular velocity, your linear velocity must be twice that of r1. Cheers!

This dude built this whole contraption before thinking about that? Funny, sure, but i would probably make the same mistake.
