This is some stellar work on NES. I mean, seriously, other than the lack of lots of parallax, I think this could pass for an early PC Engine and even Genesis game. Very nice indeed.
Namco loved the PC Engine, so many games from them on that machine. Their games on the PC Engine tended to be pretty good too, outside of them messing up Marchen Maze.

Doesn't feel the same without that isometric look to it.
Besides the PS1, the PCE was the only other console at the time to see both Spirit and Saber.

The version of the first Darius that I have, and I must say I enjoy it very, very much. The game is harder in difficulty than the arcade, but having enemies on one screen is easier than trying to track them over 3 screens.

The only port of this game till it was emulated in the second Capcom PS2 compilation, an this port is mighty nice.
