You Americans complain about the prices over there😂 Here in Europe a plastic sink is 25 euros / 55 on Amazon 😅 At least double the other items. By the time you finish buying all you need maybe you're 20% less then a cinesium one brand new....
@FarFromPerfectGarageАй бұрын
I live in Europe in Poland bro. Those prices are from Europe😂 soooo You are wrong and I still think that it was way cheaper than a brand new one. At least in my country😁
@alexdragomirescu5084Ай бұрын
@@FarFromPerfectGarage I live in Italy. Didn't check the other items, but I can assure you that a plastic 60x40x10 "sink" at leroy merlin (in the store) was 15 euros. I bought it when I did the transmission fluid kit change. A storage box (transparent plastic) is around 10 euro without the plastic cover (2 euro) in any Chinese store...so the cheaper ones. Maybe you have lower prices in Poland (which I respect as a country). I believe you where a bit optimistic with the prices 🙂. An already built one is around 160 euro, smaller of course 80x50 with legs.
@FarFromPerfectGarage27 күн бұрын
I wasn’t optimistic with those prices bro. Those were the actual prices I paid for these parts. Almost everything I bought was made in Poland. Before I did that I went to Castorama, Leroy Merlin and Obi. Prices in those stores were a lot higher than in local stores because Castorama and Leroy Merlin are from France and Obi is from germany. I don’t know how it works in Your country but maybe try to look for those parts in small local stores. Before I’ve decided to build that washer I wanted to buy a new one but none of them was that big enough (the sink of course) and all of them were much more expensive than the one I’ve built. We don’t use Euro in my country so 150 euro is a lot of money in my currency. My washer was half of that😁
@itchyomalleyАй бұрын
I just finished building a brand new 1600 with all new parts. But at the end of it all, I had paid $90 per HP which is VERY expensive and kinda dumb! The ethanol in the fuel in my country is also eating at the carburattor. I just bought a 1994 subaru parts car and will (eventually) be putting the EJ22 engine into the beetle, and I should be able to sell the VW engine I built for the total amount of the Subaru swap. Thats the plan anyway...VW engines are just too expensive in 2024+ for such a small amount of HP.
@FarFromPerfectGarage27 күн бұрын
OMG broo!! I’m thinking about doing the same thing😁I was just looking at the subaru engines and thinking how to do it. I know for a fact that it is a loooot of work to actually put that engine into the beetle. Buuut having a modern engine with all of those hp must be very exciting😂😁what stage are You at right now? It’s sad to hear about the 1600 vw engine.

the sway bar bushings from Topline are split making them easy to install. You might want to get the offset hole bushings to get you closer to stock geometry once lowered.

@FarFromPerfectGarageАй бұрын
Thanks bro!! I'm struggling with this because I still don't know if I want to paint them😂 They looked new a few days ago and now they're dirty again. Unfortunately raw aluminum gets really dirty in a blink of an eye. So I was thinking about a coat or two of the same paint I used on the gearbox. My brain tells me that it'll be easier to clean them when the paint is on them.

For future work installing brake lines, it has been suggested to use a heavy wire like welding rod or similar, to create models for bending the brake lines. Then there is no risk of having to rebend the brake lines. Also, for panels or things like the sound lining, cardboard can be used to make models. I really like these videos on your VW rebuild. Thanks

Congratulations on getting your windows to work, but also for having the only video on KZbin that features repair of the B4 Passat's power windows! These windows can be a real pain. A few months ago, I "repaired" my right front power window, which was inoperative. I got it working and ran the window up and down several times to make sure it was working correctly. I put the door back together and did so again. It was working perfectly. I left the car in the garage overnight. The next day the window didn't work. No one had touched the car. Not even the temperature changed, as my garage is air conditioned. Explain THAT!🙄 I don't get it.😢
@FarFromPerfectGarage2 ай бұрын
Thank You bro!! I thought that there is a million of videos like that on YT😂 You are correct those windows are pain sometimes. There are a few things there that can break easily over time. The most common thing are the wires. Second thing is the electric motor but I also noticed that sometimes all You need to do is to take apart the UP/DOWN switch and clean all of the connectors because the get dirty over time sooo if Your window still doesn’t work, I suggest You to do that my dude😁

Thank You bro!! I’m very happy that I could help😁 The front and the back seats are original but I did a new upholstery on them. The dashboard was black but I wanted something new so I figured that it would look nicer if I use the leather that is on the seats. The steering wheel and the gear stick knob is original but from US model of Passat B4. All of the wood that You see inside (besides steering wheel) is made with a use of hydro dipping method. The metal handles in every door are custom made. A bit of work, a ton of money buut I really love how it looks now😁 what are Your plans for Your passat bro?
