No, the hydraulic pipe routing wasn't a factory issue. You might have noticed that the hydraulic reservoir has marking pen writing on it. Likewise so does another part. Those parts are recycled parts, from a car recyclers, that car had been in a bingle on the damaged pipe side. The culprits were the panel beaters who repaired the car after the accident. They didn't route the pipe correctly.

You are wrong my friend. The reservoir was replaced a few months before the issue with that pipe. A huge rock destroyed the height sensor (which is beetwen rear wheels), the back of the car went down and the fluid was pushed back into the reservoir which didn’t withstand the pressure and broke. That pipe was routed originally because there were clips on the car body where it sat😁

I had same problem with my c5. The pipe was broke on the same place. The only deferent that i bought second hand pipe,and replace it just like you. I will be very happy if u tell where did u found this transitions.

Thanks for posting! Looks great, hopefully will work as good as it looks. :) Do you think it would hurt to paint inside the flywheel/clutch area also? (I wire brushed my transaxle and within a month it was corroded, so I'm joining the painted group!)

@edrowley1 it's not exposed to the elements too much. If you got it shiny, it may get back to a dull silver...and, no one will ever see it. Probably more effort than it's worth

Nice work brother! Keep it up! About the throw out bearing - do not keep the old one (like you said in the beginning of the video). Buy a new one in addition to the seals and gaskets kit you are going to buy. You dont know how much life is left in it.

Enjoy your work man! I recommend you to powder coat EVERYTHING. especially any metal that has to do with brake fluid. Painting with wet aerosol paint will not last longer than a year or two ...

Derek, nice work, as always. There are supposed to be spacers in the space the bolts pass through. You should find them in the black Beetle. They MIGHT support things better. However, VW did change the MC, therefore the one in the black car is incorrect for the earlier car

Niestety nie mam pojęcia ile wyniósłby jeden taki element. Za wszystko zaplacilem 1600 pln i bylo to jakies 5 lat temu a jak wiadomo wszystko teraz poszło do góry. Z drugiej strony jednak jak chcesz tylko machnąć te uchwyty drzwi to może nie będzie to aż tak kosztowne😁 Poszukaj takiej firmy u siebie w mieście i zmęcz im głowę😎

1 suggestion about drain dilemma. With minimal heat from a heat gun U can form plastic N2 a perfect valley 4 liquid drain. Once cooled off the bottom will B much more firm also.
