Always stuck in my throat that she continued performing with Peter Yarrow after his jailing for self admitted sexual abuse of a 14 year old girl. It now comes to light she was far from the only victim, despite the only person to get a presidential pardon for child sexual offences (Carter 1981). A terrific singer, but the group should never have reformed in the 80s, or found a replacement for Peter ...

My favorite song is Leaving on a Jet Plane by Peter, Paul, and Mary. It was years before I realized it was written by my favorite singer, Henry John Deutschendorf - John Denver.

Absolutely fantastic voice. I was fortunate to meet them at Griffiths Park in LA. The Brownie Troop i was in is on the cover of one of their 45s and sheet music. I will always remember that day. Forever my favorite group.

Many years ago I heard PP&M were performing in Las Vegas. I had seen them live in Australia three times and thought for old time’s sake I would like to see them one more time and take the kids along to let them hear and see the iconic group I grew up with. So I booked tickets from Sydney to LV and within a month I found out the concerts were cancelled. I sent an email to their PR group asking what was going on and what was the rescheduling outlook. I got a reply they didn’t know. It turns out that I would never see them ‘live’ as a group again. But I still can access their music on KZbin plus my LPs and CDs ( remember them?) RIP Mary Travers.

Growing up in Greenwich Village in the 60's I remember Peter Paul and Mary walking around the neighborhood with guitars.'' slung on their back. They would stop and talk with us kids and just kind of hang out for a while and play some tunes. Just regular young people who happened to be getting famous. But they were so down to earth, and even then I realized they truly cared. I especially loved Mary. Her kindness just radiated. I guess I had a boyhood crush. When I heard of her passing I thought back to those wonderful days. Before the big rock star. When musicians really cared about what they sang about The music of Peter Paul and Mary was not only beautiful, but it meant something to so many of us. and it helped define who we really are as a nation.. RIP Mary Travers

The last time I saw PP&M was at a concert in Atlanta many years ago. Mary had to sit through most of the performsnce, but her voice was still strong. She had one of the most distinctive voices in music. Thank you, Mary Travers!

I met Mary twice, both times by happenstance. She was warm, welcoming, unaffected, kind, and gracious in every way. And their music... oh, their music... I think someone described them as an angel with two cellos. The rich, intricate harmonies, so perfect and joyous they made it look easy. Best ever.

We have a whole generation of radicals raised by this group of radicals. They now occupy our schools and government which is why we are in such sorry shape as a country. Great folk singers and so talented, but radicals just the same.
