These brides and those before them have a sense of elegance, modesty and civility that today’s brides do not possess. Brides today portray a sense of egotism , immodesty and uncivilized behavior that has never been witnessed before in brides. It’s as if what is true and good has been replaced by vulgarity, immodesty and arrogance. We now have DIVAS for brides why bother getting married at all when the only important person is you? Just marry a mirror instead.

Wow! Beautiful, beautiful gowns. The work that went into them. And the brides are radiant. I turned off your disrespectful music after 5 seconds of it. Did you have a message or are you tone deaf??? But seriously, thank you for sharing these wonderful historical moments 🙏

Nice pictures, but what's up with the "True Crime" background music? I feel like I'm about to witness an "unaliving" instead of bridal gowns! 😒

I looked for myself in that series of photos, as that was the summer I was cruising with friends. Surfers and low riders coexisted! And we listened to everything from top 40 to Motown. 93KHJ! I remember hopping from car to car. Some of the best memories!

It's obvious that some of these hats didn't even fit these women. Photographers had a wardrobe for subjects to wear even if they weren't well-to-do, and of course a dramatic backdrop.

The brides looked beautiful...the dresses were modest and were just lovely. A lot of the dresses today are made to show skin and are trashy looking.

It is beyond me why today's brides want to look like a slut on their wedding day. I'm surprised preachers allow it in the church.
@VandaPietrantonio2 ай бұрын
The wedding dresses of today are not even gowns. They really look trashy and cheap. No backs low fronts slits rather obscene. Granted some of these gowns look like too 3:44 much but the attention was on the bride and they looked like ladies. They did not look like ladies of the night.

Plus those black tattoos all over. Do they think that makes them more attractive? Sad.

The bridal gowns from the past look so much more decent than the ones worn today in this day and age. The women have their dresses so low in front, thigh high slits and not suitable to wear in front of guests, as well as some gowns looking too lacy like negligee's that are more appropriate for the bedroom. They must respect themselves.
@anitakinnear67352 ай бұрын
Some designers have included a few of those “sexy” designs to which you refer, but there are far more gowns that are “suitable” and stunning. These older gowns aren’t more “decent,” and don’t reflect some sort of higher moral ground. Many are homemade, are just what was trending at the time because that’s what people could afford. If these women had access to the gorgeous gowns today, they’d have worn them in a heartbeat.
@jkhegarty8572 ай бұрын
I agree with you. Some of today's wedding gowns are designed to look like Kim Kardashian or a Vegas show girl. I admire women who look like brides, not someone who show off their "girls" or thigh-high slits to see the family jewels. In the end, to each his own. Just my opinion. 🤔
@yvetteking77492 ай бұрын
True. It seems as if in the 1990s, they started to introduce sleeveless gowns, and from the 2000s onward, wedding dress design became more and more "sexy" and revealing, and the brides themselves became more trashy and disrespectful. Now, they want to be "sexy", mistaking the slutty looks for empowerment. Some of the new gowns are so revealing, exposing the breasts, slit so high, and showing flesh everywhere else. Can't these women wait until the honeymoon? I never thought that I would prefer anything from the 1970's, but so many wedding gowns from today are so trashy that I have a new appreciation for some of the older fashions.
@jgriffin282Ай бұрын
Yes, as a bride from the 70’s myself, they were definitely modest and pretty. As a young bride should look. That’s another thing. I was married at 21. Brides today are quite often much older.
@jgriffin282Ай бұрын
@@anitakinnear6735Maybe that’s a good thing dresses were more affordable. Those couples were able to buy a house by not spending a fortune on a dress.

I grew up in Chicago and cruised the famous “Archer Avenue” in the mid-70’s. The street was a hotbed for American Muscle Cars and street cruising. In 1980, I visited and cruised Van Nuys Blvd. It was something I always wanted to do! I had fun! I miss those days of being young!

The gowns from that era are georgous and respectful looking, nothing trashy or vulgar. The brides look like ladies.😊

🤣 The thumbnail made me crack up remembering a gym teacher who when guys were acting too infantile or oversexed would say : "When you go to bed tonight, keep your hands above the covers". I've seen a lot of these old stiff derraguetypes but never one with hands hidden under a cloth... least of all two people together.
